Non Square wheels

So I have so Volks Racing TE37 that I bought instantly on getting Phoebe (about 15 years ago).
Lovely wheels and I won't be getting shot of them but I have the original BBS wheels (with centers) just sat here.
I would happily part with them for a nice sum and I've been lustfully ogling 6ULs again but I've got some balance questions.

I have always loved deep dish wheels and with 6ULs being quite on point for that design.
You can get et0 as well as the standard miata offset so I have been wondering about the implications of this on my car.
With a very normal 15x8 6UL et0 would not stick out that much. The difference is basically an inch.
If i purchased et0 and et27 for front and rear what sort of aero difference would this have and would the aero difference further alter any chassis dynamics of having the differing offsets?
Does anyone have non-square wheels? (thicker at the rear or altered offsets) If so what does it feel like to drive?

Edit:
Geometry and aerodynamics make this unhelpful for a chassis as sensitive as a miata.

Your post is kind of hard to understand but.. I think they refer to that as a "non square " wheel combo, not stance. That's a word made up by kids. Lots of BMW'S run that, dont see many miata with it.

:giggle: Ohhhhhh boy.

18psi 10-10-2018 01:35 PM

it feels like crap. I did this in 08 for a few months, could not tolerate it for more than a couple weeks

Stants!

Shibby 10-10-2018 01:43 PM

The word you're looking for is staggered, not stanced.

Either go with a squared setup or square up with all of MT.

I don't know what you're trying to ask, the OP makes no sense.

I am trying to make sense I promise. I have my answer though.

You cant fit 15x8 et0 wheels on a miata. Without fender surgery.

15x8 wheels that bolt on without surgery are between et25-et36

I was more concerned of the handling and aero imbalance than fender bending to be honest but thank you.

Can you explain again how does staggered wheel setup affect the aero balance? This must be something too advanced for me to understand without some help.

The wheels stick out further than the front.
Tyre squirt and turbulence are a real phenomenon with the added area at the back this would be notable I just wanted someone with experience of it to give their opinion but so far only one has actually tried it.

Your Drunkle 10-11-2018 01:27 PM

Wait, so you are worried about the aero effects of having your wheels stick out? And not super wide wheels but 15x8 wheels that can tuck almost entirely if you get the right offset that is readily available?

Am I getting this right?

Scaxx 10-11-2018 01:28 PM

Yep, pretty sure you got that right

But I really wanted to be wrong...

concealer404 10-11-2018 01:35 PM

If this is right i don't want to... wait a minute that doesn't work.

is that like a tire slinky, or are the tires just happy to see you?

Ive fitted 15x8 0 offset. This was back when I used to be a homosexual. I had to give it up because it made my eyes water.
