Wang Install Help
My new toy showed up yesterday & I'm trying to install a 9Lives Racing Wang. The Pylons don't sit level with the trunk "gutter". Either the rear or front is off by 3/8 - 1/2 inch from sitting flat. Should one or the other be biased, or do I want to split the middle. I figured you want the load to be distributed as best as possible downward, but maybe the bolts that hold it onto the car carry that load? (I also want to have the right adjustability, but it looks like there is 35 degrees of adjustability built into the wing, so I'm guessing this isn't an issue whichever I choose.)

You're thinking too deeply into this. Split the difference and clamp her down (don't forget the spacer between the pylon and the unibody). Its thousands of pounds of force to shear the provided bolts, so you don't really need to worry about it at all.

If you are tracking the car, check your class rules about rear overhang, and drill accordingly. Many of our classes limit the rear overhang, and I would build it so I had about 5mm or less margin - your tolerance for risk may be different to mine though.

Also, before you get to it....the pylons will be angled and yes you need to squeeze them together. That tension is by design. |
