It was funny how long it took anyone to pick up on that post.

Quoting it for truth.

Its like around 80* here, but as soon as I go lower elevation, it's over 100* everywhere. Like we went for a hike in 110* and we literally took 50 steps out of the car and said **** it. lol. Good think the scenery is beautiful enough from the road.

Lol I would've done the same. When it's over 100 that's when you know it's time to avoid the outdoors

Update: I have all bearings installed and caps tightened to torque spec. Sort of stuck waiting for billet oil pump gears in the mail

Update: I got my oil pump gears in the mail time to restart assembly. I was super impressed with the detail and care that has gone into these. I'm sure everyone who has already bought these before understand the importance of billet gears. For everyone still on the fence here's a picture.

bummer, sold out.

I do wonder if they work for the VVT pump or not. The do say to 2005 but i know there is a difference in the vvt pump. More volume which should mean wider gears??

I was actually thinking the same thing for you. I know it is so ever so slightly thicker, but that's all I really know. I'm sure some more experienced people would know. It could be possible the pump is just different and the gears are the same since they list it is compatible up to 05

i texted the number on the site. They said yes they have gears for the VVT.

They came back in stock today and had a drop down box to select VVT. they are $40 more for VVT but still way less than the full pump. Ordered mine today.

how are you going to fit vvt oil gears into your non-vvt pump? or do you have a vvt pump?

oh ok cool.
make sure to check those clearances like crazy, that's why he stopped doing gears-only for a while, people's pumps were failing from allegedly incorrectly clearanced gear installs

Update: I have everything except the cooling system hooked up. I'm trying to get it to start but the engine is cranking very slow. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
