OLD LIST: Thought I'd finally start a build thread in preparation of the coming months and after around two years lurking this forum! Firstly a brief introduction of the car and myself, I'm Scott, out of Perth, Western Australia and I drive a 2004 Brilliant Black MX5! This was my first and to this day, only car and the car that I first learnt to drive in so it holds a lot of sentimental value to me. Over the past 4 years I've finally got myself into a position where I can turbo the car after lots empty proclamations and promises to myself. I did modify the exterior of the car first because personally, the appearance of the car is something quite important to me, however I know that non-functional modifications are frowned upon here. Another factor influencing this decision was the fact that I could really only afford to do small things at a time when I first began to start working on the car. Over this past year however, I've fully committed myself to building up the funds to do everything properly which was quite a challenge whilst at uni full time however hopefully after the next month or so I'll be able to reap the rewards. List of everything important installed on the car currently:
Here's a picture of the car when it was first purchased and a picture as it stands now: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...0c05c9c6ab.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...12808b756a.jpg |
Car looks awesome. It's fun to see the contrast between dorky stock miata and one with good ride height and functional tire fitment. Good luck!

Just a quick update since I haven’t posted anything in a few months. Cars coming along great! Everything is fitted up, just a few bit and pieces of wiring to sort out and she’ll be in for a tune. Ended up converting to return fuel buying a few extra lengths of fuel line and moving the FPR into the engine bay just behind the rail, all came up looking really tidy.
also managed to pick up some mazdaspeed bucket seats! https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...cd4249c86.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e38c042a5.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...daa0049e7.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...5a5072875.jpeg |

Nice ECU choice. :bigtu:
Hopefully more of these start finding their way into Miatas. |
So after a whole lot of hassle, and a whole lot of waiting, the car is finally tuned and back on the road. Ended up making roughly 274hp with plenty of headroom for once the motor is built and the car runs perfectly.

Do you have a dyno with rpm instead of speed?

Using an oem redline this is a close estimate. Dann |
Have had the diff in for around 2 weeks now. Also got the 949 swaybar kit in yesterday. It's pretty crazy driving the car now and feeling the difference compared to how it drove only two weeks ago. The power definitely made the open diff very very apparent.
