Everything looks great man, glad you got the injector harness squared away. Please post spool data asap, I need to figure out what size turbo I'm going to run on the 99.

No data yet, but definitely a bunch of updates:

First off, to answer your question: so far I LOVE this turbo and the powerband I have. Haven't gone past 5psi yet, but OMG from the few pulls I've made I LOVE it.

Doesn't reach full boost til about 4-4300 I'd say.

But its SOOOO SMOOTH. And its DEFINITELY NOT DEAD below 4k. It actually makes 1-3psi from 2.5-3.5 and I'm guessing due to its high flow characteristics the car makes really decent torque down there. Topend is STRONG.

I AM having a bunch of what looks like tuning related issues or spark plug issues, as described in this thread: https://www.miataturbo.net/adaptronic-63/1st-tank-e85-im-way-over-my-head-please-help-me-e85-users-get-here-50643/

Other than that I am very happy with it and well on my way to putting down some serious power IMO

Always change your filter when running E85 after GAS after the first 1000 miles or so . E85 will lossen all the crap in the tank and clog the filter. If seen this happen many times :(

Thanx man

So despite the tuning issues I got it to fire up and took it for a quick spin again yesterday.

I'm really impressed by the spool considering this is such a large turbo

With a 7psi wga, the wga arm not tightened, with no mbc, and STOCK EXHAUST I'm hitting 6psi at 4k.

Now I'm not sure how much the not tightened wga is affeting it, but I'm FAIRLY CERTAIN that mbc and full 3" exhaust will help that spool at least 200-300rpm, and to me that is PERFECT.

So far I'm really liking the turbo a whole lot

Ok, so just to kinda keep everything organized and referenced to my build thread, here is link to photoshoot/showoff thread:
https://www.miataturbo.net/showthrea...471#post619471

And finally, DRUMROLL PLEASE

AS OF TONIGHT I'M ROCKING FULL 3" EXHAUST

1st impressions: WOWOWOW. The exhaust turned out AWESOME imo. Not "artech or turbotim quality" awesome but definitely nice in my book. All the resonators/piping/cannister/bends/tip went together like pb and j and there were no hold ups or snags.

Finally throw it on, crank the bitch on and OMFG it sounds SOOO GOOOD.......I am in love

Take it for a spin, and again WOWOWOOWOWOWOWWOOW.

In my honest opinion this setup is my dream setup for a miata. The turbo is NOT too big or too laggy for my taste, and the smoothness just makes me smile. There is no sudden surge of power, nothing jerky or violent, just a super smooth power increase that just gets STRONGER AND STRONGER.

Power increase from stock exhaust to 3" is measured by butt dyno as "ASSLOAD"

My friend wanted to try me in his WRX and got his dreams crushed on only 6psi. And I haven't even really started getting aggressive with the tune and running less pressure than my *** makes when I fart.

OH GOD do I hope everything stays this good for a while. I'm so tired of stupid little problems and snags and just want to enjoy my car for a while without wrenching on it.

Forgot memory card at dads garage so I'll post pics of exhaust tomorrow.

Yup. 140kpa = 6psi. I can post a log.

I know I'm miles away from efficiency range. Which makes me that much happier because if it pulls this nice on 6, it should pull 10 times better at 18.

i dont think a MBC or ebc will even control a 6psi WG to 18.

Yessir. Its running MUCH better than it did last week and I'm really happy with it. Still not perfect, but nothing more tuning won't resolve.

MOAR BOOST CUMMING SOON
