bumped it up to 12 yesterday.

FUUUUUUUCK

scared me quite a bit. I LOVED that feeling

Needs more tuning though, so I didn't give it gas more than twice at that pressure level.

Wait till you crank it up all the way to 18psi. You have no idea of what's coming.

yep i agree.... if the china turbo is anything like the real thing, it wont come alive until 15psi or so...

you have a built engine... i would suggest you try 20psi
probably good for around 400?

They've been surprisingly great man. Absolutely not a single trouble to report with them.

But then I don't track my car so they're living a rather easy life

Quick (INCOMPLETE) 3rd gear log to show the spool characteristics of this churbo:

I need to tighten the wga arm a little bit which might help a bit but for the most part I really think it spools decently for a 3076 .86.

This is with an internal gate and non-seperated gasses dp so that's definitely not helping.

I'm definitely NOT going to be changing anything hardware related any time soon. I love it.

Kinda hard for me to read that. What psi is that? Looks like it hits target around 5500 rpm? Can you do a 4th or 5th gear pull? Depending on 5 or 6 speed.

192kPa @ 4400rpm.
Its within 10kpa of that starting at 4k.

the little spike to 196 you see at 5k is a little bit of boost creep due to being internally gated. Couple psi only though so it doesn't bother me. At all

so around 13psi with a little spike to 14 at 5k

I'll try to get a 4th gear pull sometime, but it doesn't really matter to me. It spools great for its size IMHO

Just wanted to update the thread:

Car is running great so far.

Pulls real hard, turbo is holding up like a champ at 14psi, not eating oil, sounds great, and the tuning while not fantastic (still have a few spots there its super rich as well as some throttle tip in issues) is overall acceptable. Just don't have enough time to iron out the tune and make it flawless. No big deal though.

Can't wait to finally dyno it.
I am so far VERY happy at the current power level (my guess is somewhere in the 300's) and think i'm finally "DONE"

PS: I have surprised the HELL out of a number of cars here locally, and my hooptie is becoming very well known lol. They call it the "highway queen"

I might throw together an emergency 18psi map just in case
Not soon though. I'm so happy that everything is working I just plain don't even want to touch the car at this point. want to enjoy it without any issues for at least a few months.
