I'm confused -- how was that ever going to work without putting a hole in the end tank? What are the rivets supposed to into? Is there some other kind of structure on the side of the cooler?

I'll post up some more pics in a second. There is a sheet metal box around the actual end tank. I got one corner to work fine, and then drilled too far into the next corner.

The hole is in the bottom left one. The upper right is just a piece of crap that looks like a hole.

What do we think about this one:

Setrab Oil Cooler PN 51 07944 An 8 Fittings w Lines and Mount NASCAR Arca | eBay

I looked up the part number and it actually is more efficient than the 19 row I had (and TSE sells). Only issues is where the lines are, but it says its a 2 pass so I think the lines both being on top are ok.

Also, please don't buy it out from underneath me :(.

Found somewhere with a pile of 19 and 25 row oil coolers for <$100

More details tomorrow after I take my pick from the pictures he's sending.

Pretty sure my IAC valve is dead. Who has an extra one?

Added a 47 ohm resistor inline with the water temp sensor. Brings the values down to match the ECU. Going to do something similar with the oil temp sensor but calibrate it in water when I install the cooler.

Do you still have the 1.6 in this car? I can't remember.

It is in fact the unreasonably powerful 1.6 from Lazarus. Now surviving big heavy-duty lead-footed corn-fed big-boy american boost.

Am i missing something? Is there a -8AN sandwich plate somewhere that i'm not aware of? Or were you going to step them up to -10AN at some point?

The Mocal thermostat/sandwich plate has BSP threaded holes that you put AN fittings into, so you can use it for either -8 or -10.

The Mocal sandwich that we all know and love has 1/2"BSP threaded ports, and a 1/2"BSP to -10 fitting is what pretty much all of us have been using. You can get 1/2"BSP to -8 but there is really no reason to do so when -10 exists.

Gotcha.

No reason, other than that -8AN Setrabs are stupid cheap on the fleabays, that is.

Aidan, let me know if you don't want that fleabay unit anymore now that you have your other source.
