Wink Exocet 2.0 More Downforce

I'm working on putting my Exocet back on the street after sitting for over a year. It's a 2001 VVT drivetrain that is mostly stock.
My plan for right now it to get a Fuel Tech FT-450 installed with a new wire harness. The harness that was in the car for when the car was built was the entire factory chassis harness (about 20lb of extra bs).
Later I do want to install a small turbo like a stock Mazdaspeed turbo kit to be around 200-210hp.
The front wing is going to be 68" (same as cars width), it is a front wing profile (low drag).
The fenders still need to be finished in shape before they are made. Then make headlight buckets for the front fenders.
I have to order a new lower Radiator so the wing can sit back 2" 1/2.
I got more to share later with more aero parts including a Double Diffuser behind the seats.

Interesting wing profile, with a reflex trailing edge. Definitely not front wing material on that car though - unless mounted in clean air. More of a rear wing I'd think. If you are talking low drag, you picked the wrong car! Given what you are working with, put that wing on the back, a splitter on the front, skin the chassis and fair the front suspension as far as you can, and you will have something with lower drag and reasonable DF. I'd either turn those wheel fairings around to behind the front wheels, or duplicate them ahead/behind, and then start thinking about what to do with the rear wheels ...

Have a read up of the aero threads on here, don't think there is much on exocets but there is good material on thinking about improving aero which you might find useful guidance.

My 2c.

I drove my Exocet for over a year straight, rain, shine or what ever. The car hits alot of drag at 80mph since the c/d is somewhere .630 about twice that of a stock miata.
The front wing profile is from a F1000 car and top of the wing doesn't matter much. The bottom of this wing is designed to work with ground effect. There will be more aero parts to help with the c/d. Thanks for the input.

Pretty sweet dude, love the car, excited to see what else you do with it aero wise!

Today I worked on 1 step further to wiring up my FuelTech ECU. For what I see, I can't find but 1 person with a Miata to use this ECU.

I can't find out the wires for the 3 connections on the front of the 2001 Engine. The 1 on the far right is a knock sensor. But what exactly is the wires go to individually (which wires to what injectors)

When I drove the car for long journeys after installing the 6" windshield I would smell like gas. The windshield was moving a pocket of air from back of the gas tank cover and into the cabin space. So here is the double diffuser starts just behind the seats and will dump the air just behind the exhaust.
I am also working on sideskirts (Floor) with ventri throat feeding the diffusers. I'm just working on the first diffuser shape.

I just pulled the Exocet front wing from the vacuum bag. I'm going to get some cutting on it tomorrow. Then sanding to flatten and UV coat put on.

I was choosing between aluminum mounts or carbon mounts. They both haver their Pro's and Con's. But I think I can live with the issues with the Carbon mount.
I took some 3/4" MDF and made the side forms 1.5" thick

. I'm going to Mylar strip to the top of the wing as a non stick surface, then clamp all carbon layers (approx 1/4" think) between the side forms. Half of those layer will go under each side of the forms (1/8").

In order not to make locallized damage from clamping the forms to the wings under surface. I also made this 1.5" MDF cradle to clamp too.

This was another Carbon project I did last year. A LMP seat made from my back side with A/C vents down the spine. I still not done with it yet, maybe 1 day i will finish it.

Default Exocet More Downforce

I have been having exhaust fumes go up on top of the gas tank cover and into the cabin area. So I'm going to try and increase air flow to dead air spots on the Back of the car. 2 add more df to the mid section of the car.

I first was looking at a old post I did on here about aerodynamics from about 7 years ago. I found out someone else did the same thing I did by mixing a concave and convex diffusers in 1.

So here is the mid car double diffuser.

I was planning on using the whole floor behind the seats but, the amount of more work to make 2 separate moulds or to make temporary *** ons for each side. It isn't really worth it for an experiment.

Default Sim Racing Surround

This really has nothing to do with my Exocet. I worked on building a 3/4 MDF (IDK what others call it) Surround. This will hold up my wires and computer on the back. Then mount the 5.1 surround sound, monitor/future monitors, possibly Phillips Hue lights and fans. I will be rounding the corners and painting the front side black, I don't know what color to do the back side.
