I've passed emissions twice with a VVT head on my 99, with MS3 controlling the VVT. It hasn't been an issue for me.

OBD II, must pass all emmission monitors, have O2's, cat, EGR, EVAP, no pending or active diagnostics codes stored.

Still just 4-5psi. ~155hp. I'm really happy with it. In all the time I was out on the track the only car that passed me was turbofan. And he is running about 230hp. I was ~2.5sec behind him. I'd like to bump the boost up a little soon, but its so damn reliable right now that I'm struggling to put the effort in to make it potentially less reliable.

Went lawn mowing twice in the same place. Rear end would step out, I was able to hold the slide, but the dirt came up before I could finish the turn, so I would point it off into the grass and then pull in the pits to empty the garden out of my engine bay.

I need to do some suspension mods and brakes and get on a track, sounds like fun. There is no doubt that more power will be less reliable, that's how it works. If you're happy, then enjoy it and be happy.

I'm hoping I can find a sweet spot. 180-190hp. 7-8psi. Enough to keep the motor happy, and let me keep up with Ed.

My MS3 plugs into the factory ECU connector, I can't hook up both the factory ECU and the MS3 at the same time without doing a ton of rewiring. Without the MS3 I'd need a standalone VVT controller, plus see my previous comments about my existing head being worked over already. Replicating that on a VVT head would be $3K+, to gain a little bit of spool on the bottom and a little bit of top end. That's just not worth it.

Also, yes, I said it many times today... you need more power so we can be equal on the straights. Chasing you through the corners was an absolute riot, slight 4 wheel drifts to track out... that was so, so much fun. Also fun watching you mow the lawn, and the track out cone. Punt. But lifting on the straights to stay behind you or not leave you behind is LAME.

I counted. I hit 7 cones today. They put them way too close to a couple apex's. And right in the middle of the nice dirt run outs.

Were you the one that knocked over the cone on top of the kerbing in (I think) 4? The downhill left hander. That cone got punted before lunch and stayed there the rest of the day.

I knocked over the apex and trackout cones in 2...twice. And the apex and track out cones in 4. then in 14. And one of the halfpipe turns.

have you not hit the high boost setting at all? That's 220 isn't it?

Last time I had the random misfires it was from the ignition switch. When I swapped them they went away. I'm going to try and bypass the ignition switch completely

I will do that. But last time this happened (exact same symptoms), I replaced all the coils and no change. Swapped ignition switches and the problem went away.

Symptoms are as follows:

Tach drops to zero for up to half a second
Complete power loss
Megasquirt logs real RPM even though tach says zero.
The ignition switch provides power to the coils, so when the switch tweaks out the coils loose power.
