They tell me that when you hear it, you'll know it.

BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO HEAR.

I'm pissed at myself for not running them sooner. They are in the car and ready to go. I was just too excited to hook them up.

Going to go "borrow" one of these: https://www.harborfreight.com/High-R...der-60695.html

Probably wont work, but I'd like to take a peak down the spark plug holes. Even if it will just make me sad.

Ever tried one of these phone borescopes? Looks tempting for ~$25:

Yes. You can't see anything. Sensor gets all washed out it seems.

Kind of scary to be road tuning wearing earmuffs I suppose, but AFAIK knock sensors really are not that good as far as performance tuning is concerned. I don't really know how or why OEMs use them but I guess they are alright for stock engines and ECUs.
Don't forget we're tuning dinosaurs. In any modern ecu you can tune using knock detection graphs. You can actually see if the ecu pulls spark.

Sounds like 23 gnomes with 3oz ball peen hammers hitting individual 1/4 size anvils as quickly as they can but not in rythym. Now you know.

I would describe the knocking I've heard (on my high compression subaru, so who knows if this will help you) as a large wooden maraca filled with a few small ceramic *****. Imagine this maraca shaking, and the little ceramic ***** hitting the inside walls of the hollow wooden maraca.

went to full time e85, never knocked again, and it was tuned very aggressively. i miss that car.

This would've been good to know before I sat you in the right seat of my car to listen for det with my headset.

Lol. I meant I've heard the video before. I never heard knock (or what I assume knock sounds like) on your car. But the BPs all sound noisy.

Have you laid out all four knock cylinders in MLV on the same chart? This is how I differentiate between real knock and engine noise when I'm setting the noise filter on a new build.

On det cans/headphones, valvetrain and engine noise is rhythmic. Detonation is not. That's the easiest way to differentiate.

Yes I am overlaying them. And I found a few places that I believe to be knock. Thanks for all the advice guys. I think I just rushed into everything. Boost bug hit hard and I needed more.

I have reset back to wastegate pressure. Have fresh plugs and Det cans. I'll be starting from the beginning and working my way back up.

No e85. I've gone through 50 gallons of gas in 2 weeks let alone e85.

If I can get to 20psi without Det I'll be happy. That was plenty fast.
