Arent they the ones that make the FM clutches?</p><p>And I've been doing a lot of reading other places and 8.5 comp is pretty low nowadays for a turbo build. With good fueling and proper engine management you can make higher comp work just fine. Plus as we get more access to E85 it just gives me even more ways to make better power.</p><p>Yank is running a high comp+EFR FE3 build and is loving it. Way more lowend and better spool. I don't want to go such high comp that I have to run E85 full time but I want more than just an old 8.6:1 build.</p><p>

<p>I'll probably end up on the safe side at like 9.5. Because I like to break things. But I want to try something new. The higher compression ratio gives me the ability to make more power on E85, and I can have a safer tune for pump gas.</p>

That's the point... if you run somewhere in the between 9 and 11:1, it's a compromise. For turbo on pump you want to be just below 9. On E85 you want to be well over 10 or even 11.
Mine is either 8.6 or 9:1. I'd still make more power on E85, but on pump it's a good place to be.

</p><p>Lol, I meant it cost 200 more for a similar ACT. the 500 ft/lb clutchnet is 420. Goodwin has a 4something ft/lb ACT for 600. I know boosted smurf is running a clutchnet disk, maybe I'll see how his works out. He is going to be running quite a bit more power than me.</p>

<p></p><p>Just means I'll have to go full baller and buy 100 octane when I go to thunderhill. Honestly I think this build is going to be at least a year and a half. I have a lot of other things going on, and I'm really happy with how my car is running right now. </p>

<p></p><p>Basically spending some time talking to some of my BMW buddies and others 8.6:1 compression is "so last year". You can run higher compression on pump gas because of how much aftermarket engine management has improved. Especially with a good knock sensor. Its going to be a lot more research but from what I've read other places 10:1 on pump gas works just fine with good intercooling, fueling, and maybe some water/meth.</p>
There's a difference between "just fine" and "ideal." :lol:
Were those BPs?
Also: I believe it's Comp that supplies FM. For turbo, you want ACT, FM2, or maybe a Souf Bend if you're intent on trying something new for reasons.
I'm going with a Clutchnet for my SE, but that's ENTIRELY different goals.

<p>Damn, you're right about comp.</p><p>just fine on pump gas, and holy ***** this is awesome on e85 is where I think I want to end up. But when it comes down to it. I wouldn't say no to a set of forged 9:1 pistons for the right deal. But I'm also not shying away from 10:1 if those pop up too.</p><p>FM2 is not strong enough for my dreams.</p><p>Sean: linky here</p>
