Had an awesome time at the autocross yesterday. Fastest time was a 59.939. A half second faster than @turbofan's s2000, and a second off the fastest car of the day, a 1.8 Miata with R6's and allofthecamber. I think I killed another throwout bearing though....I'll post a video of it soon. I'm hoping it something else.

The drive up was beautiful and the whole thing was awesome. At most there were 15 cars there and we got as many runs as we wanted all day long.

Whats up with the tires? It looks like your tires are hitting something (screw head?) in the fenderwell.

/\agree

If you killed another TOB, something is up. Are you riding the pedal?

Good call Rick. This looks like it could be the culprit.

Idk, I thought I adjusted it right. I think I need a second opinion. The noise sounds similar to before. I'm not riding the pedal, I put my foot on the dead pedal 95% of the time I'm driving. I don't fit comfortably with my foot on the clutch pedal.

My only other guess is the clutch fork like rattling or something. The noise goes away when I put the slightest amount of pressure on the clutch pedal, like I take up the freeplay and then as soon as it gets harder to push the noise goes away.

You forgot to mention that you killed a cone on that 59 second run :P

Even so, you ran a clean 60.1 or something didn't you?

Definitely a blast, no question. Glad you made it. Hope your TOB is fine. I don't know man.

I think 60.1 or something. I stopped keeping my slips after like the 15th run.

lol, yeah. I have slips for 17 runs, and there were at least 10 runs where I didn't ask for slips or they weren't handing them out during that time.

I'm pretty sure I have to go to the august one.

Nope. I won't be signing up until right before again. Too many other things going on and I still have a track day to survive in between now and then.

And the whole TOB thing.

Any thoughts on the TOB video? Could you hear the noise?

Can you leave the car on blocks and wiggle the shift fork, I wonder if it's not rattling or something?

I can't hardly hear anything in the video though.

TOB sounds like its making some noise but not enough to justify being replaced. Mine makes 2x as much noise and i'm not worried about it.

It could just be the tip of the slave vibrating on the fork.

When my clutch isn't adjusted just right i get a sound like you are describing. Try globbing some grease between the fork and the slave. That cleared my little chirp up. I was quick to jump to the TOB cause that's what everyone told me but they were wrong. thank god.

If that fixes it you may want to adjust your clutch in a tad.

My throw out bearing made noise worse than that for a little while. Then it stopped after like 4 track events. Nearly 8,000 track miles later still no issues. It's whatever bearing came with the Exedy Stage 2 kit.

Locking downpipe bolts are a necessity because of the type of downpipe flange I bought. But the bolts are impossible to get a wrench on because of how big the downpipe is. To solve this I bought Stage 8 3905. Which as described on Amazon has a recessed allen head for easy installation. Imagine my pain when it turns out the Amazon description was wrong. I didn't do anything about it because I'm lazy. They after pulling the downpipe like 3 times in the last month I decided I wanted allen heads. Talked to hi_im_sean for a bit and we decided that calling Stage 8 and double checking was the best thing to do.

So today I called Stage 8. Turns out 3905 does not have allen heads. But 3902 does.

Chat with amazon. Tell them the description is wrong. Full refund, no need to return the old item. (The bolts were purchased in January)

Purchased the new bolts with allen heads.

Win.
