If they do melt, they've really nowhere to go. If you don't take it apart hot they'll probably just resolidify all up in there.
I don't think I'm gonna get material for brackets till next week, Metal by the Foot, Inc. is where I usually go for small quantities since I can drive there. Thinking about it now, I might make one piece stepped spacers for my wheels and the rotors both, if plastic melts.
I think my konigs use 73mm bore? Fricken 3" 1/2 wall is $40 for a foot. Still won't easily fit in my lathe. Doesn't have to be perfect, I'll just mill the bitches in softjaws.

re: plastic parts near brakes
I've seen the little plastic center caps about twice the size of a quarter melt and fall out of stock front wheels at the track a few years ago. Can't recall what type of car...

Overall length of each is 16.5", from hard line fitting to the end of the NPT/3AN adapter, in case anyone wants to DIY. They're reddish orange wrapped, too.
I still think you could do a m10x1.0 to NPT adapter, then just use NPT/NPT brake line for half the price. I don't want to price more **** at the moment.

Most brake line is 3an. And you really should get DOT approved brake line.

I'm going to call my local shop and price it out again. I'll probably just do that.
