It's easy. I follow the advice of a very knowledgeable person, since I am not expert on the subject matter. It has worked well for our applications. Sorry, that is all the SCIENCE I can provide on the matter.

Browsing what the Google Scientists have posted on the interwebs, I do see quite a few posts about this mixture on multiple car platforms. Not that this really means anything, but there is some reading that can be done.

Because diff/trans oil is measured by a different scale than engine oil. 80w trans oil and 80w engine oil are not the same thickness. Sounds odd but it is true because engineers.

I don't want to hear anyone complaining about their transmission not working well with this fluid or that fluid when they get hot and you don't have any heat shields around the exhaust. Even the factory shields the transmission from the exhaust at 100ish horsepower. Double or triple that and you are making 2 or 3 times the heat.
Wouldn't it be 2 or 3 times more important to shield it?

Y'all don't hear me.

I understand aarons sentiment, but automatics running water for fluid go 100s of 1000s without gear wear issues. Not that that proves anything, but it's good enough for me.
