What voltages are you seeing?

It's not a voltage reading. It's a knock %.

in the pictures you can see a baseline noise threshold and some spikes that may indicate knock.

If you zoom in on this picture you can see specs of aluminum on the strap and insulator. I'm putting fresh plugs in and am going to try to stay away from 30psi. And install my Det cans.

What timing map are you running to get that much detonation? What octane? Those plugs are hammered. I could never run more than 28 PSI on 93 Octane without detonation no matter what I did. I looked at your logs and it shows like 8-9 degrees timing at 5K and 250kPa.

30psi was an accident lol. I can post my tune in a bit. But it's very retarded.

pulled number 2. Looked way better. Only a few specs. I'll get to the others tomorrow.

I wonder if my intake valve stem seals (supertech) are leaking and causing det.

Burning oil does lower octane significantly.

Let's see how many new views this thread gets now.

Supertech valve seals are killing your turbo motors.

I've heard nothing but problems from supertech valve stem seals

Using this for my ignition tuning coupld with sennheiser headphones. Probably saved my engine by doing so.
Knock Detection Tool / Adapter Cable, EFI Express
Oh and a 10$ bosch knock-off knock sensor.

Does this also work with an oem 2001 knock sensor? Thanks.

Dunno. If the oem knock sensor has a Bosch style connector than yes. Though it's much easier to buy the sensor and hook it up to one of the valve cover bolts.

I tuned for knock with a VW knock sensor and HF detcans. Works just like a standard mechanics stethoscope (which it pretty much is). Det, even around 6krpm, was pretty obvious.

I later hooked the stock sensor up to the good old Harborfreight detcans. You can barely hear anything. May have to increase the sensitivity for them.
On the other hand, OEM knock sensor, AFAIK, is tuned to Miata knock resonant frequency (around 6kHz or so?). So maybe I would only hear knock, but since my engine is not knocking, I'm not hearing much.

When you say HF det cans what are you referencing. I did the HF microphone thing and extended it and bolted it to my 1.6. I just have no idea what to listen for. I'm going to hook them up tonight and see what I can hear.

Stock sensor is wideband, not tuned.
