Only the first couple sessions. Then he was faster than me. I think I got on the brakes too hard when it was too cold.
In other news. Our BBK has rotor to caliper contact when pushed hard. I think its not perfectly centered on the rotor. It self clearances pretty quick though.

Last campsite of the trip. Showed up at 11pm left at 8.
Ahhh missed this stuff.
Somehow this whole trip got Hailey actually kind of interested in a Miata. So were now searching for cheap (read sub-$500) NA's. She demands a v8 in the future, but I think my turbo 1.6 would be OK for now. I need to speed up the 1.8 build though.
Fastest time was a 1:55.6. My GPS units were killing it, and it was kind of fun to get recognized by some people. We were sitting in the download session and Ed had his in his hand and a guy behind him was like "are those the GPS things from whats-his-name" and I replied, "yeah, I'm what's his face"

Maybe next year on sunday. We'll see. As I mentioned, its my 8th track day in 3 months. And my second summer owning the car. I have realized that I have plenty of time ahead of me. Ian is on his 16th (?) season of tracking his car. I'm happy I only did one day. My car needed a break.
I'll come back next year with real tires and some aero and then the party can really start.
Aero. Aero. Aero. I want to try it. I borrowed a blackbird fabworx spoiler and could feel a difference. Little bit of push, and a lot less drifty drifty. And it was awesome to meet moti, and try out his product, I just can't stomach the $280 for something I can make myself. I'm all for buying good engineering, but I think I can figure this one out.
So birch splitter+spoiler are on my winter list (which i just started and is already too long)
I have a whole bunch more pictures but they won't be up until tomorrow when I get to work and have real internet. Also video of all of my fun little mistakes.
Winter list is growing. And I still have to fix this manifold before the next track day on the 24th.

I know I know. Build motor isn't on there. But its still in my garage. And will still happen. But I want to develop the car and driver a bit more. It will give me time to build a baller manifold, and pick a turbo. My friend just picked up a billet compressor wheel for his VGT turbo. And I'm still thinking about trying one of those out. Apparently the spool is insane with the vanes closed, and then its as big as an hx35 with them open.

Reliability is not good with VGT turbos on gasoline engines. IIRC, they're really designed for diesels, which have significantly lower EGTs due to the higher expansion ratio.
