The thing with bronze is that the bearings come pre-lubed and when they wear out you just pay another $8 for a set from mcmaster and pop them in without having to get new custom parts made. You cant use metal like that in the other spots because it doesnt flex enough to make the suspension not bind like delrin.

No, but I have the prints to put bronze bushings inside of whatever plastic ones you go with. I have the bronze inside my poly ones.

Does bronze replace the metal sleeve that is normally between the poly and the bolt?

Do they need greasing?

How have they held up.

I really like the bronze bushing idea.

No. My setup is similar to bundy's where you have a smaller diameter steel sleeve that the bronze slips on and the bronze presses into the poly.

What is going on here, oilite bushings in delrin bushes? How long does a set of brass last?

Isn't it the face of the bushing doing most of the binding, at least it seems to be with my poly stuff. Do you just bevel the delrin away from the mounting tabs or something?

Squeaks like mad now that it's cold.

Shouldn't the inner sleeve be what is pressed against the arms. Instead of the face of the bushing?

We're talking brass and aluminum for one. And delrin and brass for the others I guess. It was discussed in one of the bushings threads.

Yeah, I'd think that would be ideal. That fancy-pants Australian company makes beveled poly bushes, my cheap energy suspension set is not. Or were it prothane? I don't think either is...

Or would the loads from a side impact be too much for them? From what I've seen they are made for drag racing door bars.

If I were in a side impact, I wouldn't want that tiny shear pin determining if I live or die. I'd skip them.

I suppose if the situation is "tiny shear pin and door bars, or no door bars at all" then I'd use them since they're better than having nothing.

That was my thought. Wasn't sure if someone had more info. I've been researching disconnects for side bars. Because I want them on the track. But they absolutely ruin the streetability of a car.
