I like my Necksgen because of the lower collar. Its comfortable and I forget its there. Makes getting in and out of a caged car with it on so much easier too. I haven't tried the Schroth though.

I have the Necksgen and like it. Never tried the other. Didn't want HANS because of their shady business practices.

I ended up buying the Schroth, I'm pretty sure I've got a medium, and it's been good to me. The only complaint I've got, is that I'm a pretty skinny guy, and it does dig into my collar bones a bit. Not enough to buy something else, but it is a little annoying some times.

That's about the only complaint I am seeing as well, many people get the large to alleviate this as well. Thanks for your input.

Come out to RA in March and you can try mine out.

I'll definitely be out at RA in March but I need it this next weekend for CMP. 2018 season is upon me.

Thank you Brain for your documentation and base maps!! I was able to fire up Barry yesterday for a quick test before I finalize all of my other cable wiring/routing. Since Barry will be ran NA I need to go through the basemap and adjust some tables accordingly, but thank you so much for the starting point.

My buddy will be fabbing my intake today and I'll finish the wiring/routing and begin tuning later this afternoon. Wish me luck! I need a solid/reliable tune on this thing by next weekend or I'll have to resort back to the stock ECU for some CMP abuse.

Efini~FC3S 02-04-2018 04:40 PM

Nice...props to you sir

Small update. I had to resort back to stock ECU to run my event at CMP after I failed to buy a spare IAT bung after we burnt the first one up.... Lesson learned. My buddy was able to source one a few days later but that did not leave enough time to tune the car at all. We did however successfully weld in some subframe bracing. After seeing what fliers subframe did, I was not taking any chances. So pretty.

I decided to go with the Schroth Flex HNRS after all the high reviews. I opted for large in order to help clear my collar bones and it's nice. By the end of the day Saturday I didn't notice it at all.

Forecast earlier that week was calling for 100% rain all weekend at CMP, fun fun. We lucked out and actually had no rain in our sessions but the track was wet. We only had a dry line on one session each day before the rain decided to wreak havoc again. It was a major learning experience slipping and sliding around the track trying to find where the grip was, and well... where it wasn't. I had a nice spin after hitting some curb and picked up enough sand to build a castle out of.

Had some takeoffs come in for the RA event in March. Super excited to mount these and see what real grip feels like.

After the debacle of trying R7s with my Ohlins setup, I new they would not withstand the grip of the SM7s either. I had 2 choices, buy new springs and hope the valving would hold without a rebuild and rebuild at a later date, or sell the Ohlins and buy a suspension that I knew could handle it....

The ohlins sold in one day of me posting them, so the rest is To Be Continued...

Loving the red on bronze 6ULs!

I have those spare Bilsteins ready for you if you need them. They seemed to handle R7s on my car just fine.

black bandit 03-02-2018 11:19 AM

From Cali, with love. Pretty excited to get them mounted up this evening and ride height set. Should leave enough time over the weekend to get a decent basemap tuned as well.

Nice! You will love them.

x_25 03-02-2018 11:55 AM

Very nice. Mine rides and handles better than ever with my set. Still be the best thing I have done to the car.

Had an awesome time doing my provisional TT weekend at Road Atlanta. Car handling felt great on the new xidas. Barry is a bit down on power compared to the other TTE cars, so this is now my focus. One of the other racers friends snapped a few photos for me.

Here was my competition, since I couldn't make it up front. I was faster through the turns and caught him every time going into the esses, but his car has some torque and would pull away at T5 with ease. Once on the back stretch I didn't even have enough power to stay in his draft. He's a good friend so it was fun battling it out. He was also on his provisional license and took 3rd place on Saturday! I was behind him in 4th.

Sunday was nasty with rain all day. The first sessions were all 2min plus laps and it was not fun on the 4 year old set of 185 bridgestone tires I had... By the 3rd session I was almost ready to pack it up and call it quits due to how terrifying it was on the hockey pucks. The rain had stopped and the thunder race was going out before us so I gambled and put the SM7s back on. To my surprise there was a perfect dry line and I got to run a decent lap. In hindsight I should've checked with a few other racers who I accidentally knocked out of contingency since I wasn't running any contingency, but oh well. I managed 2nd for Sunday.

I finally got off my butt and mounted the WBO2 and installed the intake to tune the MS. Maybe with the MS and full exhaust I'll be a little more competitive on the HP side at the next event.

Just a shot of our homemade beer cups... Need to add solo cups to my track day list.

Beer is not allowed at my 'home' track. I guess I can understand why, but still, be nice to share a beer at the end of the day with my track friends.

Yea, my region is a little more relaxed and provides liquid courage at the awards ceremony on Saturdays with some good food too.

Went down to Roebling Road Raceway with some friends. Red miatas that race together, stick together. It was my first time at RRR and I was only there for the Instructors Clinic on Friday. Friday Test/Tune sessions are awesome. The sessions were 45 minutes long, so plenty of time to do some laps, make changes and go right back out. Unfortunately I had a super busy day and only had the first session to run by myself to learn the track.

We got to do some fun drills for the clinic.

I look forward to honing my own skills and hopefully help others as well. Here's to risking my life in the passenger seat now.

Is that some "Bran New Flava In Ya Ear" Beer? Congrats on being an instructor. I love the two Red miatas with Bronze 6ULs.

Thanks. Yea it's a local brewery here, Heist, and they make some damn good hazy beers. Red and Bronze is a classic color combo. I'm trying to decide what color to go with for a second set.
