built 1.6 from Italy
Long story short, here in Italy 1.8 engines are uncommon and the few you find cost more than a fully forged 1.6.
The car is used for drift and track days and sometimes mountain streets touge.. this is my third setup and after 4 years i can say that i learned 'buy cheap, buy twice.. or thrice' saying. (first setup was emanage-Td04 and second setup was me221-chinacharger). This is my actual part list: Me221 ecu FF 640cc Walbro 255lph Toyota cop's EBC Kraken subaru 3 holes cast manifold 3" DP to backbox 10 litres FMIC Coolant reroute 19 row oil cooler B6 engine 100k miles that i'm going to build this winter Wiseco 79mm 8.7:1 pistons H.-Beam rods ACL racing bearings ARP main studs ARP head studs OEM head gasket Boundary stage 1 72psi oil pump Fluidampr So i'd like to keep using my exhaust sistem and i need a subaru flanged turbo (to replace my actual td04hl-19t), what do you guys recomend? i have seen vf34 or td05/16g turbos that could take me to my target 320-350 whp or there are some ThaiCharger like ArashiDynamics that made some hybrid subaru flanged ball bearing gt2860-2867 for like 1000 bucks.. does anyone know the quality? are them total junk? Actually i have a 1.6 lightweight 9 lbs flywheel and i need a new clutch, do i need to upgrade to 1.8 flywheel and clutch? any advice? lightweight or not? (i have never tried a non-lightweight one so no comparison..) This is my first engine build so could you please say me what do i need to ask to the workshop? i like to go there with clear ideas, for sure i need to: bore cylinder for the new pistons resurface block and head crank balancing bearing measurament full head cleaning and reassembliyng with new seals anything else? will update with pics and videos! i'm sorry for my bad english, hope it isn't too annoiyng. |
