Have some more updates. My fabricator is moving shops in the next few weeks and the car should be rolling by this weekend! Cage is officially done and looks nutty, I will be going with a different seat to get in and out easier. Fabricated the wing mounts into the frame as well as the cage to make it super rigid! Quarters and fenders are now cut for the new flares.
Put the top on and hood to get an idea what it will look like! We will be able to run the car super low due to the drop spindles and clearance we made. Getting excited to get in on the ground.
Sorry for the cell phone pictures.

my god you're car is AWESOME! I was excited to see it run before but now it's just ridiculous lol.

Are you also running an F-series trans? My friend has a f20 in his shop and I'm super tempted to put it in!

Yes for now! Might end up with a dogbox or sequential

Making slow progress as usual, my fab shop moved shops closer to a sheet metal shop that he will be working with on a future project. He will be learning how to use many new sheet metal tools and really looking forward to nice quality pieces for the firewall, rear firewall, rear floor, flat bottom, and diffuser.
After talking it over and over I am having him redo my a-arms. I wasn’t happy with the ones I have and rather than altering the current ones we will be making new ones.
Fuel system is taking shape; we offset the tank slightly to the passenger side. With the ATL fuel cell and Nuke Performance surge tank we should have no problems with fuel starvation. Some pictures for you guys.

The car will be at fab for a few more months. Material for my exhaust will be coming in sometime in February. This will be very exciting project that I have been dreaming of.

Personally,I would like to see the fuel cell placed towards the middle of the car. Why would you position it so far to the rear of the car?

Better weight balance because we pushed the motor back!

You still want to keep the weight between the axles if you can, in my experience.

this way the weight balance would be adjusted for feel with the chassis setup (ride height, alignment and aero compensation)... getting the 50/50 isn't as beneficial as keeping the car planted about the center of the car for the neutral feeling.

I would personally move it as far forward as possible like was mentioned. It just means you will need a bulkhead fitting and hose to connect for re-fuelling vs taking the trunk lid off.

Noted, position isn't finalized yet.
I will be finalizing a lot of stuff this weekend with the fabricator.

Appreciate the input!

The idea of having the mass as close to the center of rotation as possible is the same as the one for flywheels. The same weight further from the center resists changes in rotation about the center more than when further inward. It will turn more nimbly if you keep it in.

Well said. Final placement will be made this weekend as well as new a-arm design. Car should be on the scales in a few weeks.

Little update. I plan on changing all the a-arms to our own design.
Subframes are all finalized and motor placement is finalized.

Should start moving pretty quickly now.

I can't imagine hours have gone into this and how many more are still left to be done. I need a badass project like this in my life.

NO, NO YOU DON'T.

This is the second shop, 3rd time down to bare chassis.
Going on 3 years.

Luckily I finally found a true and passionate fabricator that cares about his work. Too many hack shops out there.

ya, you're probably right...

The fabrication work really is art on this car.

Went up to take a look at the car this weekend and finalize some suspension items and other options! Looks like I will be upgrading to 17" wheels eventually. This is just the mock-up subframes as we are changing a few thing for the final subframe!

So rad.

I can't believe you have the patience to suffer through this project... It looks like it'll be worth it in the end.
