Did you try priming it? There's several methods. I use a tank with a quart of oil, some air pressure and feed it to the fwd dipstick boss on the pump. I'd do that before pulling.

I tried, with no success - I looked at all the methods available to me on these forums and did not succeed, so out it went. Planning on splitting open the pan tomorrow to see what's going on with my pump/relief.. i really hope its nothing big. oil was clean

How long did you turn the engine? It took a horrible few minutes before mine built oil pressure. Felt like hours I hope you find the problem and it's easy to fix

I want to say about a minute or so of turning the engine over with no plugs in generated nothing....

Guess i will be trying it again very soon considering i just took apart the oil relief valve and inspected the piston and other various parts and they all seem to be in good working condition, the piston was just a tad bit difficult to remove from the bore with my pinky. At this point im thinking a little bit of rtv on the custom pickup gasket i made is what caused my issues but i am not 100% sure, maybe i just didnt turn the engine over long enough, better safe then sorry.

I put in an order for an oil pickup gasket with mazda, and will be picking up new oil pan seals to seal the pan up and try again.

After further consideration, the piston was seized in the bore.

I believe a piece chipped off the corner of this washer that holds the spring in. ( I even circled it in red gais)

Cleaned up the area for the piston and its definitely much smoother, this had to be my issue.

You can buy all the parts for the relief valve from Priority Mazda for like $5 or something. I would recommend replacing all those parts.

my cheap *** couldn't wait.

1am, nothing better to do then to fix my car. I will be going to bed with a big smile tonight, just got to clean up the big mess i made while priming and throw the turbo on

Spent pretty much the whole day off and on throwing the engine in and connecting everything on the engine up.

Took less then 30 seconds to build pressure, no plugs and fuse

First start was a success, just need to get the exhaust welded up, and make sure the car is perfect for the upcoming tune day.

This car is giving me emotional trauma. I think i may be discovering some of my health issues, it starts with this car.

Quick pic update, I've done a bit

First order of business was fixing the exhaust, midpipe extended too far

so i had it modified.. but it didnt quite line up right.. I don't blame the fabricator for this error, im sure if he had the car and i measured better this wouldn't have happened.

ps. **** u vibrant /pepboys, 80$ for a vband kit wtf?

never save stuff for last minute, order online.

s.o dosky fab, great work, very fast.

Pie cut

I went home and test fitted at this point

End of exhaust pics.

Next order was getting the car perfect.

Found some boost leaks, the black part of this was leaking, i have since re-threaded and done a much better job.

Two blow off valves, both of them ****.

The red one i was using on the car forever had a piece chipped off near the bov opening, so i took the old BOV off my boosted infinity, it was in pretty rough condo.

Made a new paper gasket for it

Also replaced this o ring in it, was leaking pretty badly.

215 fits good, 214 leaks at higher boost, ask me how i know - i had to take it apart twice.

Bought this thing.. came looking ragetty as fak

And here we are, i started the car up and look down at the oil pressure

:( 0 zip nada. Spent all that time getting the car perfect fixing all da leaks and now i get to do it again.

Pretty sure the piston must have seized again because i had no fuel / spark cranking for a bit and no oil. The only thing left to do is pull the plugs and try again, if it doesn't work - I've already ordered replacement parts overnighted for tomorrow from my local mazda for the spring, washer and piston in the oil pump.

so fun

So, i pulled the spark plugs, made sure i had no fuel / spark. Cranked for a bit in intervals

I have oil going through my turbo oil feed line but its like a waterfall dribbling down.. before im sure it used to shoot out like a bullet and spray everywhere, its like there's alot of air inbetween.

Regardless its pretty clear the oil pressure is low, so already prepped the engine for coming out - hoping i can fix it all tomorrow..

Are not waterfall and dribbling contradictory? I assume it's bad if you're considering pulling the motor. There's got to be somebody here that can crank the motor and test the oil flow from the same size feed line and source before you start pulling.

Dripping would be more accurate for sure.

Shouldn't it be squirting? i remember turning the motor before and it squirting all over my windshield.

I think the setup im using is pretty standard around here, just tse block and real sender / gauge from 94.
