Nice try.
Started the weekend with a nice dinner on our deck. New patio furniture with fire pit = the bomb.
But this is Miataturbo not...Deckturbo.
One thing I needed to get done was wash the 6-speed. It was disgusting. I quick favor at Adrenaline Racing to use their parts washer, and it went from this:
To this:
Before picture doesn't do it justice, it was disgusting.
Then I had to attach the clean tranny to the engine.
Done! One of the easier installs I've done.
Time to get this damn thing in the car.
Well ****, that's too far away, and the driveway's too steep. If only these stupid cars came with a device that could propel them forward under their own power.

That's why I try to always the at least the e-brake installed or sets of stops to gradually roll the car. I've unloaded a few non-running cars off my trailer by myself using the winch and a wood stop without incident. Just place the stop in a location that won't allow the car to get too much momentum.

When Midtenn posted the idea yesterday I thought it pure genius. I immediately started about how the anchor would be made to be stable and strong enough to pull a car up a relatively steep driveway. Mine's not too bad, but it'd be nice to have.
I thought of the home garage two post lift I'd seen that uses 4 pre-drilled anchors i the floor to mount. Obviously you'd have to get the hoist above ground level. I'm thinking a tripod like stand bolted in place, using the downhill leg to take the pull stresses. I don't have the mad fab skill to prototype somthing like it but I know many on this forum do... any takers. I expect the builder would sell quite a few here.

Big piece of steel bolted to the floor. Not much to fab. Go to your local steel yard and find something huge lol. A plasma cutter always helps, cutting torch works too.

Ahhhh, but you're assuming I have friends handy to help said push. Because pushing even a Miata uphill by yourself is looking for trouble. Can you do it alone? Depends on the hill. Can it go badly sideways in a heartbeat? Oh yeah.
Same reason I had one in my race trailer when I was doing that kind of thing. You never know when you are going to have to do something all by yourself.
Besides, as my dad used to say, "I'm too old for this crap".

I've been quiet, but I've been busy.
First, I tuned our future chump car. Yes, we're running EC. '03 auto junk yard VVT with MSpro. This is the before tune and after tune torque at 1500rpm. Final numbers was 134hp and 125ft/lbs. It's a 2000lb beast.
Humming Aero graciously laser cut my gauge panel for the MSM, for super cheap, and here it is sitting in the glove box, looks ****.
I also got the engine installed.
And running.
It's apparently stuck in gear, that's why the speedo is moving. Scared the crap out of me cause I thought I had a damaged tooth on the flywheel. It was my tranny plug hitting the ppf once every rotation.
