Okay, here are a few pictures of the progress. I am thinking about running e85. But to do so I will require a bit more time and money, still just toying with the idea at this point.

Looking closely at the exhaust work and k frame clearance It looks like I can get 3 inch exhaust to fit but it may be tight. If I decide it is going to be to tight, I will pick up a tube frame k member from flying miata and make the appropriate modifications.

What, you don't think that is good placement for the brake line?

Seriously though, I will be relocating the brake line. I am thinking about running it behind the cowl.

My AEM came it the mail today. I took a couple of pics of the down pipe in relation to the k member. I am going to see if I have the clearance to run the pipe; 3" of course. If I don't have the clearance needed I am going to order a k member from FM and do the mods to adapt it to the engine. I just ordered a stage 4 competition clutch, and some bosch 1000cc fuel injectors. I will keep acquiring parts and eventually have this thing running on boost.

Have you ever been somewhere, like at the beach, and seen a guy with his badass, hot ******' girlfriend, wearing next to nothing (the chick), and you just couldn't stop oogling, even though you knew you'd never even get close to it?

That's how I feel now.

Another new part, I am not good at the patience game involved in building a car!! I wish I could just stroke a check and be done with it. But I guess it is the pain of waiting and accumulating parts that makes the payoff so sweet!

Anyway here is my new clutch setup. It is a stage 4 competition clutch, sprung 6 puck. I have been told by many that this is the setup to run as it will hold 250% more torque than stock with pedal pressure equal to oem.

The fc engines have been prone to thrust bearing failure if a clutch with to much diaphragm pressure is used. Competition Clutch has found away to provide the extra clamping force without stressing the thrust washers on the crank during clutch operation. I paid a pretty penny for this thing so lets hope all of the good word of mouth I have heard is true!

I can't wait to have it FI!! The car is a blast to drive NA, I can only imagine what it is going to be like once I am running boost!

I have to admit now that I have read a couple of the baller builds, I realize that I could have had the power I am going to have in my conversion. for less effort by building a 1.8 to the teeth. But this thing will be a different animal when it is finished, and should have major OMG factor when I pop the hood. The one thing I have found is that cost is about x2 that of a cut no corners 1.8 build.

Hopefully I get it right, these engines are not as common as the miata mills.

Im glad all of you are enjoying my build, it is nice that you accept my bastard miata here!

I agree: this thing is ****.

Just keep in mind: even though you could have gone the bp route for cheaper, this thing will always:
rev higher
breathe better
have more topend
have more potential

A built s2k motor (should you for whatever reason decide to do that in the future) will easily do 800-1000hp.

Yes you will turn heads
