Faelflora breaks his promise, time to part out car. GIT THE SAWZALL!

Faefae, how in the world are you having trouble putting a tranny in? I mean, with as much time as you've spent struggling with it, you could have pulled the engine, put the tranny on outside of the car, and then put the engine back in. Easily.
BTW, Faefae. I'm seriously considering a BW S200SX S246 thanks to your comments ages ago. What is spool like on your BW?

1st gear: 9psi @ 8000RPM
2nd gear: 22psi @ 8000RPM
3rd gear: 35psi @ 75000RPM
4th gear: 35psi @ 6000RPM
5th gear: 35psi @ 5000RPM
6th gear: ????
give or take depending on ambient temperature.
s246 will probably spool better than my old GT30 which means
4th gear: 25psi by 4000RPM
probably will also do 400hp no sweat. and it costs $550!!!!!!!!! and no water cooling!
I don't -want- to pull the damn motor. why should i have to pull it when the trans is already unbolted and crap. Fuckying fucky.

it spools like ghandi on ice. this is a pretty big turbo on a crappy motor
1st gear: 9psi @ 8000RPM
2nd gear: 22psi @ 8000RPM
3rd gear: 35psi @ 75000RPM
4th gear: 35psi @ 6000RPM

http://www.theboostlab.com/store/pro...SX%252d46.html for specifications.
The 246 is closest to the 2871 in flow, so it baffles me how it would spool like a GT30.
As for pulling the motor Faefae...
At this point, you have more time in the tranny install then it would have taken you to just pull the engine, swap trannies, and reinstall. You'd be done and have the new tranny in already bro, if you had done it from the start.
Plus, you have some pretty expensive stuff to take a chance of ------- up - it's not going in easily, and trying to force it takes a great risk of screwing it up.

I'm seriously considering the S246, but the S246 supposedly maxes out at 37 lbs/min. How can it spool that poorly when it's targetted at 2.0L and smaller engines?

I have the Borg S300SX 66mm turbo. s246 is 46mm! That is spool data for MY turbo NOT the s246!
And it flows quite a LOT more than a 2860 which also has a 46mm inducer. Exducer and turbine are a lot larger and also t4 housing. Turbine size and housing equal less backpressure so even more timing. I am buying soviet's since it will bolt right up where my current turbo is. Some day I want to run it and see how it does on 30psi. Some day. It will not max out at 300hp. 400hp

Yes the s246 will spool kinda like a 2871 maybe a bit slower but it will have less backpressure which means more hp per psi
No my car is slow from 0-60. At least it was for the 3 hours it worked in 2012

You're essentially talking about a t25 and 30r size turbos. Nowhere near the same. Also if you did any research at all you'd realize all the old school borgs LOVE high boost, and are very laggy at low boost because of their big blade wheels with extended tips, and only come alive past 20psi.
They're fantastic turbos, just not something a dinky stock motor BP can properly put to use.

I think you don't know what you want.

Bleen u know u r gonna be a puss and run like 15psi tops even if u build ur motor. Just grt the tiny turbo and retain u dignity

18psi: I'm aware.
Great points, and I did tell Soviet you have first call on that 246 if you want it, Faefae. Seriously, if you want it, pick it up. I have no objections.
Although I'll be running a lot more than 15psi if I do pick it up, as I'll be running a built engine w/VVT next spring Faefae.
