Wrong and wrong

That is silicone tape and it is just temporary until I get wrenches big enough for that -12.

Sweet green 80's sweat band, filter hanging off the turbo vs piped to the box, removed the box, welded the monster an fitting onto the vc, and threw a fist full of random hoses and wires into the engine bay?

looks like you are running the valve cover to your exhaust pipe now.
What kit did you use?
Feel vacuum pull at idle?
I believe my check valve has gone bad.

??? What check valve of yours has gone bad? Are you running a slashcut system too? If so, please post in the crankcase thread.

I didn't use a kit. I made this **** myself out of pubic hairs and testosterone. I will test it's efficiacy on the dyno by disconnecting the **** on a back to back pull.

See if its even pulling a vacuum or if its just turning your crankcase into a hot air tank before you go to the dyno.

OK NIGS

I'S BACK

Well not really. I am over in the gulf guiding our beloved contractor force on the global financial distraction named Gaddafi. All I have to say to our liberty loving brethren back in the states is "go long on the commods" and that is merely financial advice.

That said I have decided to run my GT30 to destruction. I will not send it back to garrett until the bastard turbine wheel shatters and explodes the turbine housing. I have vacillated between selling my hotside and going to a GT35 and I think I should just run my favorite little adrenaline providing boost **** until she breaks. I shall dub my turbo "Kaitlyn" after all the spawn producing 15 year old trailer trash I have encountered in my brief life. She screams when I boost her, and gets moderately moist and oily in the compressor but she boosts and boosts well. If she dies, $600 will resurrect her, and at that point I might say "**** it" and move to a better turbo....

I upped the boost to 20psi, peaking at 24psi, to try to keep up with leatherface (god among lesser beings) and resultantly, got unexpectedly and shockingly sideways at 80mph while attempting straight line acceleration on my POS RS2 tires. My girlfriend noticed, and calmly stated, "that doesn't seem like the best way to go forward quickly". I myself was rather shaken and decided that I should definetly set up traction control for third gear-- not just first and second.

I diagnosed my spark gap issue to my spark plug wires. To ameliorate my wire deficiency, I am ordering some 10mm wires from Magnecor. If anyone has better wires to recommend, please say so now or forever hold your peas. My "free" wires that I got with my coils were damaged because they were not the correct bootie type for the miata and I pulled them on and off a few times. Anyways, with good wires, I should be able to run .45 gap with no problem.

After the wires, that's it for the mods.

Dyno session is next week and goals are "ALL OF IT" at XXXpsi and 8500RPM, and my expectation is to only be limited by my fueling (stock '03 system with 255HP walboro pump and ID1000). I want to walk where eliminator has walked with a 50trim and hope to see over 500hp with 30+psi.

P.S. If I lay hands on one of Ghaddafi's mumu's I will trade it for a GTX3076...

Hmm. :| Already addressed. I do not use electrical tape. That is the tape of the plebes. Self fusing silicone tape for the ---- rampage.

What was your idea? Yes, that is a DEI volcanic wrap turbine blanket. There is also DEI volcanic wrap on the downpipe. The blanket can be had for cheap on... AMAZON. Not much more than the uh PTP or whatever everyone uses.

I also got rid of my ******* heat shield.

Yes I tried to find a teal sweat band and could not find one for under $12. **** that.

Yes I mounted the filter right on the turbo.

Yes I ripped off the ******* cold air box and my datalogs indicated NO AIT DIFFERENCE. SUCK A **** COLD AIR BOX. Note that my AIT delta vs true ambient is always like 20*. I am quite sure that my compressor and maybe hotside piping is heatsoaking like a mother. In heat.

Yes fitting is on the VC.

Random hoses and wires no. Damn it. Purposeful, yes.

Um I will look at my idle MAP when I am back from the promised land. Despite your lols Braineack, wouldn't more vac on the crankcase = more ring seal = more vac in the intake???? Yah I gotcha, I gotcha there don't I sweet ****? Doubt there would be more vac at idle though, there's just not enough exhaust velocity to make much of a difference :|

I don't think you will be happy with a gt35 unless you run the 3563. I Run the 3582, and the car doesn't start making serious power until 5k; not a big deal, because the engine will spin to 9k all day long, thus increasing the area under the curve. It maybe a different story with the miata mill.

As for 3rd gear traction control, only a ***** runs boost control above 2nd gear.

I say you rock the turbo until it grenades like you said then buy something nasty like a 35r or even bigger with a 40r or go t4 with a precision 70 mm it would be sick.

i say you get a custom borg turbo or something that will flow more with extended tips and **** so you can flow like a 35r with the same spool as what you have.

one of my buddies bought a turbo like this for his 1jz that fullrace modified. fullrace claims that their modded turbo will do this (i will keep you updated though)

T4 with a quick spool valve if you can stuff it under the hood will spool like a 30R and flow like a big 40R that would be the ticket. Minus the factor that the vale is $500 by it self:(
