Yep, 80-95* is usually zero'd out on all my corrections
that also happens to be when I tune the car most times (at least the ve map)
then you taper up/down for the rest of the table

Thanks for the help guys, that's exactly what i needed to know.

The car always ran perfectly all summer, the issue arose just before i put the car away for winter. I knew it had to be those corrections.

Much to learn still for me

That is what I'm terrified of once I get the car bolted together I have to learn how to tune it before I even get going, and also, hope that it will even start!

Yes, although rich as ****. I'm not so worried that the car won't start as I am that I caused/messed something up while reassembling the car.

Mostly I'm still worried about the wiring harness issue I had a month or two back. I think once I get the harness in the car it will make more sense as to where the "loose" wires go.

MS is easy compared to what you are doing. Don't get me wrong, there is ALWAYS something to learn - but getting a car running decently on MS isn't so hard.

You'll be fine. Plus you get this awesome forum to help you with any little question you could ever come up with.

To get it running, sure. To get it running perfect like oem? Takes some tedious time consuming effort, but not rocket science, and given his track record for being detail oriented I'd agree: shouldn't be too hard.

This is truth, which is why I said "decently". Although that is all relative anyways, i guess I should have said to get it drivable. lol.

Yeah the devil is in the details in tuning. Y'all are making a guy get all misty eyed! I can't wait to be able to breathe again and stop hacking up mucus so I can tear into my car again.

I'll stop derailing now...

Went back together with new headgaskets today. Everything was nice and clean, and i lubed up the cylinder walls before I put it back together. Gaskets went on easily enough, followed the steps to the LETTER from the subaru FSM, weird procedure putting on these heads. Was fun.

New water pump, new timing belt, new tensioner, new timing belt idlers all around. Cleaned the VC, new VC gasket.

Trying to do it right this time around. Here is hoping for the best. Next steps are IM install, and drop this ***** in.

Your Foz has the dash cubby right? If/when you are ready to put any gauges in it... Come to me. I started making dash pods for Foresters and I'll give you a discount on one.

That's actually really neat. Although, no gauges on that car for a while. The goal right now is a comfy DD that can get me through anything and go 200k miles.

One day I might consider a swap though, if i come across the right deal

Quick photoless updated:

Got dat ej25 installed. First start SMOKED like nothing I've ever seen in my life. However, i knew from the previous incident with oil DRIPPING out of the exhaust and all, there would be some burnoff required. 15 minutes later and its still SMOKING. I shut it down, check the oil which is still full. Temps are all good, everything seems solid. So i take it on a 5 mile drive, giving it lots of revs, then lots of vacuum, then drive it normally.

Anyways, let me get to the point. After a few drives there is zero smoke coming out the exhaust. I can start it and idle/rev it in the garage without smoking the place out. After 15 miles or so it was still good on oil when i checked it

I'm VERY happy about all this. I'll get some picture updates later. I don't want to jump the gun saying this; but it seems very healthy I'm going to put some miles on it this afternoon to gain some more confidence in it. For now I'm going to go snowboarding though.

Hope everyone else is have a great weekend too :0

Got some more miles on the scoob without a hitch. SO STOKED to have this thing setup for DD. Way, way, way more comfortable than my 94 teg; especially on the dirt road/speed bump part of my commute.

I got a new grill for it, just gotta get the plastic tabs to mount it.

I got some vids comin up, nothing special but proof of my victory (lol)

don't mind the exhaust leak. I got plans for a nice quiet, but good sounding OEM+ setup (UEL borla + wrx catback). Not too loud but gives it some growl

Don't mind my dad in these videos

LOL, this pig really slides. It's an S package with the optional LSD in the rear, as long as you enter the turn pretty fast, lift, and get back on the throttle you have some nasty dirt road slides going on. Can't wait for the next snowstorm.

Also, SO glad to have this out of the garage. You guys know what that means, miata engine build time.

I've got a few more plans for the foz, needs refreshed suspension, brakes, etc. Then I want to do some minor upgrades. Header has a crack in it from the PO, so new header, probably a wrx catback from my buddy. Should still be nice and quiet but have a bit of subie rumble.

Thinking of going GR2 struts, OEM springs, and a wrx rear swaybar for suspension. I want to keep all the ride height i have. It seriously RULES.

I fixed my fender and bumper too Will get pics of the repair asap, fender is a new one in the same color, and the bumper i heated up and popped right out.
