Pretty crazy weekend for me.
Crazy neighbors meth lab blew up. He is a very weird and shady person. Always hangs out in his little shack at his moms house. I believe he lives in the shack, I know for a fact he has slept there a few nights. Waiting on the ECU then I should be ready for boost! Bad bad thoughts recently about selling everything and buying something new, like a v8. Then I remembered how much fun the old car was boosted, I really want to achieve my new set goal for this car as well.
Got a call that our stuff was all coated and ready to go so we went for a 2 hour drive to pick up the goodies. Cost me a used t-25 that I use to have on my old car so I feel like I got a good deal. My G8 got nailed by hail Wednesday evening in MWL's. Better than getting killed in a tornado though. Looks like I'll be LS-less for about a month while it's repaired. $7K+.

Could have been much worse. My roof is totaled on my house and the truck is beatup. Glad I kept my car garaged, tornado like storms again tomorrow. Not good!

I've been wanting to get the Super Dampener but I don't want to convert my alternator and water pump pulleys to the ribbed still belt. But your build looks awesome, can't wait to see the videos of this beast. Sorry for noob question, but does the trunk open with that fastback?

Do it Ryan. My car is so rev happy with the new damper it is unreal. For being N/A it pulls hard, much harder than I expected. I may have some pulleys I could donate if you can get an alternator!
Yes trunk is fully operational. I lose about an inch or two of space because the fastback overlays it a little bit. Dude, I put in the 949 Super clutch, she be rev happy already lol but it would be nice to lose some more rotating weight. Also mine has slipped, so I had to re make the timing mark. Definitely let me know if you have a pulley. Can I just change the pulley on the alternator or do I have to switch the entire thing? |
Spec miata brackets, then 2 bolts to secure the trunk area.
I'll look in my boxes this weekend. I may be wrong but I dont think you can just swap the alternator pulleys. |
I dont think you can just swap pullies, you can just toss on an NA8 alternator though. Are we sure the super damper fits the 1.6 crank?

They sell it for a 1.6 and state the pulleys need to be changed.

Well I guess it fits then. I would just buy a dura crap NA8 alternator and grab a 1.8 WP pulley from salvage, or buy a new one from mazda for like 30 bucks.

Debating on a few things looking for some suggestions
1) Going with a gtx2867r turbo. Keep .64 compressor housing (which is already ceramic coated) or go with a .82? 2) Intake mani, stock or upgrade to honda type mani? 3) Meth inject, use or get rid of? I really don't want to have to rely on it. 4) What else? |

Pretty crazy weekend. Car broke down Friday afternoon on me, car seemed to run fine but when I came back out of the bank coolant was everywhere underneath the car. Drove the car across the street and parked it. The way it acted made me believe I blew a head gasket :vash:

Found the problem real quick after turning my A/C on. Seems the main fan wasn't working at all. I had power to my connector so I swapped back to the old original fans and it fired right up. Seems I saved myself a tear down. Looking into some new fans and a fan shroud, I don't like the big bulky stock fans but hey it saved my ass this weekend. After reassuring everything was okay I met up with hornetball Saturday morning at 4:30am. We were crazy enough to drive nearly 2 hours to meet up with a few other miata lunatics for the Track Dog Racing swap meet and show our cars at the Cars & Coffee meet. After some starbucks to help wake us up we arrived. What a relief my car made it there and back, I thought I had a tear in my radiator hose but turns out my A/C drain was the victim. I think this stood out more than any other car. Australian v8 Holden car, 727 cubic inch engine. Wish I had this thing in my car!

Being around all the miatas at the Track Dog Racing meet made my car seem like a 4x4. I need coilovers, badly. Weighing my options for now and focusing on getting my turbo going. I hope this month turns out to be a good one, really looking forward to boost. Shouldn't be much longer

it takes all of like three seconds to pry on the window, shove a stick down, and unlock the door.

Not as easy with a baller hardtop you don't wanna damage that might have a big overhang, but still do-able.

Hmmm. How does the FP relay and connector look? Something melted the shit out of my connector and relay back on the stock ecu and FP.

Looks fine. Should be getting 12v at the two white/blue wires with ign on but I get nothing. My 80amp fuse is fine so im gonna pull schematics up here at work.

Good luck. The schematics isnt helpful. Try jumpering the hot leads for the EFI relay and see if you have power at the connector.

I put a jumper to the fuel pump relay and ground (on the diagnostic connector under the hood) which should put voltage to my fuel pump but still nothing.
I found a thread on here that discusses a few ways to check it out. Pumps not my problem unless I have 2 bad pumps now which the bosch worked fine when removed. |
No, jumpering FP to GND in the diagnostic box grounds the little green wire on the FP relay connector.

Well if you have no power at the white/blue wires at the FP relay. jumpering the green wire to ground does approximately dick.

The check list I read was pretty dumb, all I know is I have no voltage anywhere but Ido have 12v at my 80amp
