Friend is building a turbo NA
Teaser: '90 NA that *might* get a widebody. This will be a decent build for a purpose of having a fun street/track car. Right now I'm trying to convince him to do a V-band turbo. Power goal is around 280 whp / 240 wtq.
PS: Said friend has a welder so we will try to make as much things ourselves :) Here is a list of some of the things I'm proposing:
|
Make sure the torsen is a 3.6 unit, or at least a 3.9. Pics of project car?
|
Your list is broken:
TSE Brakes MS3x a turbo |
I'm leaving rear end choice to my friend. I've already suggested OSG :) ECU and turbo choices are still up in the air as well. Pictures after I take a look at the chassis this weekend.

Why? Getting a 6puck is one of the stupidest ideas ever.

With 8lb 1.8 flywheel
|
Is this a street car or full time race car?
|
This build sounds like AIDS.
|
this build is for fun when ever i feel like having fun. i have other vehichles i can depend on for daily driving. but this will be my (really quick) grocery getter and since i run a towing company once its good enough to do so. will be towed to race tracks for some more fun! the idea here is to build it for the track but still be able to drive it on the street. ps this build is nothing like aids. its more like gonorhea. really bad and painfull. but curable!!!
|
well then it was an extremely STUPID choice to go with a light flywheel and 6puck clutch. it will absolutely suck trying to drive it on the street. been there done that.
get an FM2 and stock flywheel. good enough to hold decent power and very street friendly. |

Mmmmm... Can you say "budget"?

Because flywheel was much, much cheaper.

ive ran lightened flywheels my whole life on every single car i built. when im running canyons i dont even touch the brakes because the flywheel does all the breaking. and the clutch is just fine for street use. it feels a lot like a motorcycle clutch. theres no middle point of where its half way caught on. its either engaged or disengaged even if you would want to ride it you really cant! ive been driving it daily to work out all the kinks of the car and put close to 1000 miles on this clutch already in notorious los angeles traffic and dont have a single complaint about it being hard to drive!!! if anything i would want an even stiffer pressure plate then i already got! slava you know the budget! im willing to dump a lot of money in this car plus the bimmer is a LEMON. can you say fat ass check from bmw to me :jerkit:
