Yeah, I feel like I made the right choice, between reskinning the exo vs selling it and buying an ND.

Got the hood mounted, 2 aero catches in the front and 2 quik-latch mini's near the dash area. With most of the body panels attached and the tail lights working, it was time to take it for a quick spin around the neighborhood.

I'm hoping that with some longer evenings put in this week, that I'll be able to get a good shakedown drive in this coming weekend. And have next week to tidy up any loose ends

Got these pretty cheap

225/50/15 so they should help fill in the wheel well a little. Also I've been mildly concerned about how my fairly worn nt01s were gonna hold up to a whole weekend at Laguna seca.

I got the front turn signals mounted and wired up this evening. I just need to remount the third brake light on the rollbar and deal with the headlights and lighting will be done for now. Still waiting on head light brackets from Cord though. I may end up making my own if he doesn't come through in time for M@MRLS.

Also started working on mounting the dash cover panel. Strange seeing the car like this as its been off for most of the body mounting. Also I'll fix the wiring running over the radiator

Last night I replaced the cable on the drivers seat for the slider. Works now, but only if you're not sitting in the seat, which may prove to be minorly annoying. I also cut small holes in the floor pan below the seat mount bolts and its super easy to take on and off now! Yay! patcleary

I also finished up the dash cover mounting. That just leaves buttoning up the rear deck once I'm happy with the third brake light and fuel filter, and modifying one of the side panel mounts that I'm not super happy with.

And I raised the rear coils 4 turns, which netted me about 0 rake, but it seems monster truck tall now :( I may end up removing the front exomotive spacers and see how far I can crank it up without them.

My new harnesses came in, so those need to be installed (old ones belong to EO2k). And this morning I ordered an aero 300 fuel filler neck from BATinc. Won't be in until next week though :(

I'm still waiting on cordycord to send the headlight mounts/shrouds. I may end up making my own mounts as they need to be on by mid next week.

Also taking Thursday and Friday off next week. Gonna get the tires swapped and an alignment. If there's time I'll work on the dash and rear firewall

Fabbed up some headlight mounts this evening. Outside came out quite nice IMO, inside needs a little work but I expect it will hold up for a while.

The cut off is too high at the moment, I won't be making many friends at night. Guess I should build some adjustability in to the next set of mounts (or add a bit more rake!).

Thanks Its nice to have other people appreciate it. I just got back from a freeway drive home from Santa Cruz and was feeling a bit down on it after listening to the poor motor scream from cruising with a 6 speed and 4.3 (pretty sure). The unfinished interior(full of rocks from my drive on Sat morning), lack of guages, lack of side pipe, tinny exhuast, engine heat in the "cabin", and other unfinished things are getting to me.

I think I'll poke at mounting the dash panel this evening and call it early. Likely just tired.

Ha, you can tell how happy I am in the pics my girlfriend took when I got home.

Probably doesn't help that I left my ear plugs at my parents place and am a bit shell shocked.

Dude, that thing is amazing. Don't sell yourself short.

So down at camp I was talking with the wedding photographer and he asked me "Is there anywhere special that you want to take pictures?" and I told him no, you need to pick places and things that you find visually appealing because I know too much. His confusion resulted in a 10 minute conversation where I pointed out all the broken fences, cracked windows, leaking pipes, the place where that dude died and other undesirables from where I was standing. He was taken aback but I think he started to understand and just went for it.

You are too close to the project right now and you KNOW where the bad parts are. You want to make them better, and its distracting you from the whole of what you have accomplished. You BUILT that IN YOUR GARAGE with BASIC TOOLS. How many other people do we know who cannot even comprehend the things we do on our weekends? I know people who would kill for the time/funds/ability to do something like that.

You done good man, enjoy it. Worry about the small stuff later

If you really want it to knock your socks off, I'll take the rest of the week off and we can get the FMII, GT2554R, MegaSquirt and ID750s installed

I just found out I'm sitting on 160 hours of vacation

This coming week is going to be crazy and the car is functioning well now anyways With an oil change and the passenger harness install it would be fine.

Unfortunately it's the end of the quarter so things are bit a busy at work now. I already had wed-fri scheduled as off, but I need to go in on Wednesday anyways

I made mounts and cut fiberglass and rewelded the mounts and cut more fiberglass this evening. And now I'm super itchy, but I think it was worth it

Cleans up the interior a fair bit IMO. I need to make a center console now to mount my guage in and a phone mount/charger too.

I also made an appointment for Thursday morning to get the 888's swapped on to my 6uls and an alignment.

It's gonna be an interesting morning. The person on the phone at big-o was not understanding me when I tried to explain what the car is, so I eventually gave up and told them its a 2000 Miata

Drive tires over in Subaru, drive back.
Drive exo-thing over, get tires swapped/aligned, drive back.
Drive over in Subaru and pick up still decentish nt-01ss, and drive back.

No thanks

  2. Load all wheels and tires into Superbrüe
  3. ???
  4. Profit

They are going to be VERY confused when you get there, regardless
