Guss_Bruss' Fastback NB
I've been on the forum for a while, but I thought i'd finally make a post of my Miata.
This is my 2001 Mazda MX5 that i've had for a couple of years now. The plan is to keep it a street car but get as much grip and power out of it as possible as I want to start taking it to the track more. I've also been trying to take a kind of "mod as I need" approach to it so it's kept as simple as possible. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...ec04cbd58e.jpg So far I have done the following mods: - Roll bar - Sparco Sprint seat - ATS DTC wheels - MCA X-Race Coilovers - Cold side intake - Exhaust - Wilwood BBK from FM - Lightyear fastback https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...fe571c2611.jpg I've tried to do this car in 4 main stages: 1st was handling - Coilovers, wheels, rollbar etc.. 2nd was exterior - fastback, front lip etc.. 3rd to be interior - New seat, harnesses, MazdaRoadster short shifter etc.. and 4th to be power - Turbo or super? https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...8100c61ee3.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e07ddd31ba.jpg In the coming months I will definitely be more active here as I get closer to doing the power mods and needing to do the research for it. Currently i'm swaying more to the supercharger as I want that linear power curve, also the mountain roads around my area are narrow and windy so I believe the supercharger would feel more at home in this environment. My goal is to hit about 250hp I don't feel I would need anymore than that. Anyways thanks for reading and I look forward to reading all the valuable knowledge on this forum! if anyone is interested in following the car more in depth I post much more often on my Instagram. it's just @guss_bruss |
I want a Fast Back. so much jealousy here.

Best fastback shape ever, car looks amazing. I would vouch for a Rotrex supercharger; then again I am biased! Welcome!
|
Any legality issues with the tint-level of the rear window and rear quarter panels?

The fastback really makes it look like a completely different car - the rear bumper cut looks "just right" too, not too much to not look OEM and raise the ire of "The Boys in Blue".
Consider longer split-silicone hose that extends from the door-join to the boot-join, it'll look more OEM and fill in the gap between the fastback and rear quarter panel: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...7c1e6d334a.jpg PS: Car needs a name and custom plate :P |

I had a few people asking questions about the fastback so I made a video for you all to check out! Let me know what you think!

I made bit of montage of how the car sits now!

so an overproduced video of a regular, run-of-the-mill miata with a fastback, and some silly stickers... am i missing anything?

I had a videographer contact me about making a video of the mx5 so I let him. This is what he came up with! So stoked with how it turned out!
