Vlad,
Here is a short video of my AFR on throttle lift with fuel cut. It's not always this perfect, but usually close to this. At the end, is when I give throttle again. I can post my msq so you can see some settings (VE table, TPS-dot fuel pull, Fuel cut settings, etc) but the tuning computer is in the car and the it's raining like crazy tonight.
So, here is the teaser:

No time for something that big. Just tinkering with parts and making them all pretty and bolting stuff together.

Correct.
On a different note, this just happened.
They're multiplying again, lol.
I'm really surprised at just how different the two cars feel, and drive. And it's not just in favor of one or the other, each has significant pluses and minuses. The same basic everything has been used since 1990, and yet having driven just about every single year, I continue to be surprised at how noticeable the small changes/differences are.

That looks great. Please post it whenever you can, if I get mine to be like that I'll be a happy man. I'm still completely stumped at what's causing it. I tried everything we talked about so far and what you suggested, and nothing seemed to completely rid me of that weird dip.

What's really weird is this:
the dip doesn't take place during AE or EAE. Or at least not that I've noticed. It actually happens AFTER that. Like a full second after I lift off, not immediately. Also I've disabled them altogether just to test this, and no change took place. Only thing I can think of is just too much fuel in the lower cells, but unless the map is supposed to be drastically non-linear between 10-30kpa and then 30+, I don't see how my baby-bottom smooth VE map is off. Plus, my overrun cut is set at like 28 or 30 or something
When I lift after steady state cruise and stable AFR, it dips a little but, like 1-1.5 points, then like a half a second to a second later it dips again, really low, like 11 afr for a split second, then pulls fuel like its supposed to.
Oh and on another note: I was totally exaggerating my startup "issues" lol.
Threw the stock ecu on just to test, and it starts almost the same

You are right, but when looking at the graphs/tables, it does very specific things on throttle input and lift, and I can see it working, and I have tuned it according to the writeups on msextra and diyautotune, and with very good results (on throttle tip in my afr is pretty much rock solid).
Maybe I'm missing something. (probably something really simple haha)

of course.
for a very VERY small donation
I'll take some this weekend if it doesn't rain. Actualy, I really like the seat material (microfiber/suede/somthing). Color is a bit flashy, but oh well.
I definitely don't want leather. Gets way too hot and the AC in miata's is nowhere near powerful enough to remedy that in the summer
