looks legit

I'm actually kinda torn between a few ebay ones. They're probably not the quietest, but I like that there's spring tension adjustment and its compact

looks like a knockoff of the forge vta or whatever

then the greddy type-s knockoff too

Or I could just say screw it and get the TIAL style

I dunno. I want quiet, but I also want a nice sound when I don't want it quiet.

I have a real type-s on my car. it's pretty goddamn ricer. I love it, i wont lie - but i do doubt it's what your looking for. My car sounds like some **** from fast and the furious, lol.

My buddy has a real Tial on his 570whp wrx, and its loud as ****. That could have something to do with the gt35r and the immense amount of pressure he runs though.

If you want quite i'd go with an oem. My brother is using a 1g DSM bov on his sr20 s14 and its super quiet even VTA.

My biggest gripe with the oem valves is they're plastic and leak. Almost every other thread about the bosch valves here is a report that they leaked. That really puts me off

This one isn't plastic. I'm not so sure about leaking at idle or anything, but i know it holds boost well at 16-17 psi before you need to "mod" the bov, lol.

That said, a hot side return can be relatively straight forward.

Some baller turbos have integrated compressor recirc valves which seems to indicate that for surge control, hot side recirc is preferable to cold side vta?

Why not get a bosch stock style one? I have the style that is open and although its compact not being able to put a filter on it does get annoying.

The Audi guys (B5 S4) usually swap in a Bosch 710N. Much more reliable than the stock 710A's & B's.

talked to a friend who is thinking of replacing his Synapse diverter with something else, so I'm going to pick that up from him hopefully.

PISTON style FTW

There isnt one. All the parts are layed out in the pic above.

On this pic you can see the hole at the base of the spring for the intake manifold vacuum hose.

Operation is very simple. The top side is filled with manifold pressure (or vacuum depending on the condition) The bottom side is filled with the pressure from the turbo. At wot the manifold pressure = the pressure from the turbo therefore the spring holds it closed and prevents leaking. I do get a small leak between 60-75kpa since the big spring isnt strong enough to overcome the vacuum and the turbo is spooled enough to push it open so the big piston compresses the spring. I gotta replace the big spring with a stronger unit or get few washers to put in there to make it tighter. Anyhow when you let go of the gas the manifold vacuum pulls the piston and opens up the other end so the valve vents.

The plastic piston is there to prevent the valve from being opened at idle when theres about full vacuum. That plastic piece holds the valve closed and then the pressure from the turbo forces it open when the big piston pulls back.

Yes sir. They call it dual piston.

Forge Motorsport | Alloy Fabrication

I'm guessing this one is also same thing just without the plastic piston.

For that bov, i ordered some orings. I'd suggest you do the same. I'll confirm mine are the correct ones when they arrive.. no local stores had them.
