Damn. Thought I had ordered new block/head alignment pins. Hopefully I can scavenge some from around my garage.

More head work

Are those copper nuts? What's the purpose if so? Sorry for my obvious ignorance haha

Copper plated for seize resistance. Still steel nuts.

Still waiting on the pump. So I'm messing around right now, cleaning up. Will pull the mockup motor today hopefully and clean up the engine bay some more.

Swapped the motor to be on the stand like this. Makes working on the rear a lot easier.

Makes sense

Also I love the idea of holding the engine on the side, that's really smart

Well heard back from Travis. Oil pump should be here wednesday. Hopefully shims will be here then too. So maybe first start next weekend?

This is a blessing in disguise, I had started to rush things. So I spent an hour cleaning the oil pan and clearancing the MBSP for the ARP mains. Also made some oil pan alignment dowels.

And then I "sealed" it all up for now. Tomorrow I'm going to roll the car out and wash the engine bay, button up wiring, finish the interior. Essentially get the car complete except for the engine.

After that I drained all the old fuel, Walbro made quick work of that. And cleaned up the fuel filter area and installed a new filter, Gates Barricade hose, and fuel injection clamps.

Tapped my other transmission for the temperature sensor. Made this funky "jig" to center the hole perfectly between the fins. Then flushed it with Brake cleaner, atf, and mtf.

Oh and curly coming in with the alignment pins. Picking 2 up from him today. Ordered like 6 because they were $1 a piece.

Pump shows up wednesday, hopefully shims will too. Starting to get excited.

Real answer: Aidan is growing up and doesn't want his **** to look like ****. When he does something, he wants it to look decent. The untouched stuff stays ugly.

Amirite?

Pretty much everything I've touched has look "good". Old motor was painted, powder coated. Etc.

I just started with a pile of **** car and don't care enough to fix the rest.

Actually if you go back to the beginning of this thread you will find me and my roomate power washing and cleaning the engine bay.

OMG Aidan can you do me a favor if willing?

Can you measure out the location of the 4 threaded holes on the passenger side behind the alternator. I've been trying to fab up a plate to bolt into that location with some counter bores, to use for auxiliary mounting position for things.
