All the time. Except it poses a few "interesting" issues, like how do you get out of a hard top car when it has no doors?

The CFR (race body) is getting done first, and then we'll tackle a bikini top and perhaps a hard top. It actually won't be that hard to put some protection on the Cat.

Until then, I just got a nice present in the mail today---SpeedHut gauges! The speedometer is GPS driven and goes to 180mph. I checked my gearing last night, and that should be about right.

SpeedHut gauges are NICE! Much nicer than I expected. Machined aluminum bezels are a very nice touch, as is the custom logo. LED's will be RED at night.

Aussie crate is gone. Time to work on the House Cat.

Maybe the Cat would scoot faster with this twin turbo 1,100whp monster...

The new shop space looks pretty nice. Not a single lo-rider pickup truck in sight.

Don't be fooled--there's a flat black Lincoln Continental with air bags parked out front.

Well a bikini top would work too as long as its durable enough to see some snow

Also got more pics of the buggy?

More pictures of the sand toy that costs more than most new exotics, coming up today. I need to be careful where I aim my phone, as Curt is finishing 21 cars for the next Fast n' Furious movie, and they are on media blackout.

Burn them all. Shame on them for making another one without Paul.

Default Sand Monster

2 seats, 1,100whp. What could go wrong?

Danny is TIG welding Dzus fastener brackets in place

All the brakes and the POWAH are out back. Those giant rear tires are just for the trailer. Larger diameter paddles that are too wide for the trailer are fitted at Glamis.

Default saying goodbye to the Sand Monster

The sand monster left today, only to be replaced by another. It's a really special car, but also par for the course at the CRB shop. Curt's team fabricated nearly every aluminum piece on the car, and you don't realize how many parts make a car until you actually walk around and look at the finished product.

I think these start at $150k and go up from there. You should have seen the custom buggy that came in 6 months ago....amazing. All custom, one-off, 4130 throughout, including custom bending dies made just for this car. Crazy stuff.

I guess I should start saving for a down payment on this instead of a house. Then I can have a blast, crash at 150mph and it will be fine if I don't have a house cuz I'm dead.

Default Glass and Steel

Last week was working on the splash guards for the engine bay and the trunk enclosure. This week is a custom set of cnc-machined hinges for the hood and starting to assemble the engine.

I wanted to strengthen the exhaust header just a bit before it went on. The header flange was cut in two places to help with expansion (you can barely see one cut in the picture), and a flying buttress now connects the T3 flange to the engine block flange. Hope it works.

Looking at the inside of the exhaust in the picture, it looks like I ought to take a grinder to the inside of that flange as well...

Top-mount CXRacing stainless exhaust header.

Default Dropgage

Just in case you didn't see:

Dropgage

If you're invested in GoPro, do this. As the tag line says, "Know how fast, hot and high you are."
