I'm on 205 nt-01 and 2.5 seconds behind the sm record. Tomorrow should be more fruitfull. Regardless of the lap times, I'm having fun with my car again, competitive or not. Btw, 210whp feels slow.

How are the NT-01s doing? Holding out, or shredding rubber?

YouTube - Miata Challenge 4 - April 11th at Thunderhill

Happens when you get going fast on a track. IIRC they were brand new before this day.

I understand wear, but to wear so unevenly would seem to be caused by something other than the pads themselves.

When you actually (ab)use your brakes, calipers flex and the above picture is the result.

I am on aircard internet so I can't actually see the photos, but I'm fairly certain they are from my car, so:

-Either the pad is tapered evenly from one side to the other, which is just normal use with crappy single-piston calipers. The pads don't wear evenly when you really press them hard.
-Or, the pads are just ******* destroyed, bent backing plates, the whole kit and kaboodle, which happens when you take said crappy single-piston calipers to Laguna Seca and hammer on them for 2 days.

It's not. And Trey, if you are doing that to pads and are still slower than SM record, use the brakes less

Y pad taper is not that severe, but bad enough to half the pad life

By the time I had any confidence n the car to hot lap, the brakes were gone... and I'm on 6.5" wide wheels with 205's. John and. Were discuss our inAbility to eclipse sm lap record times and I've come up with a laundry list of excuses that I'm going to employ until i get to a horsepower friendly track. I managed to go 10-seconds faster than I did the last time I drove this car.

10 seconds faster is a huge improvement. Nicely done. So you are using carbotechs on stock rotors, correct?
