The transponder is for timing and scoring at any track in the nation, the onboard DAQ is for forum whoring.

Most sanctioning bodies and especially Miata Challenge require these. Easier to get times for one type of transponder at one location without tracking down info from all participants after event. Also these are real time and are on hand after each session. Mylaps.com also stores the info for you to view anytime you want.
Keeps playing field even as is takes out any discrepencies from using different lap timers.

With a green car they are going to want it to be white imo, they will black flag you if the corner workers can't see it. Neon green on green would be dope too.

Just suck it up and put 'permanent' vinyl on it. If you use the temp stuff your going to have to put it on blocks (unless you want to apply one letter at a time) which are a pain to apply to a car as non-planar as a miata.

Plus, you get to look like a real life racer.

3m makes some very tasteful (non-blingy) metallic 'vinyls' now which we've used at work before.

Dark Green + Gold = ****.

Green for tha money, Gold for the hunnies

You know, the only question is TTA versus TTB right? So, what if you get TTB decals, have extra 'A' letters made at the same time, and if you get bumped, switch out the B for an A at the track. That should be easy and only take a few minutes.

In fact, if you are truly baller, you can get the hookers to swap the letters for you while you sample the blow. Or, get the hookers to bang the officials as an incentive not to bump you.

I'm getting standard cheap vinyl. What is this heat sensitive stuff?

I hope he replies soon, if not he can kiss $1000 goodbye.

I'm trying to get some fancy printed stuff made on post-it-note material so i can pull them off and throw them away at the end of each day, rather than roll around with numbers on a street car.

No way. Leave them on. Everyone knows that decals are worth like 50-100 HP.

So do the same thing? Just have an extra post-it note made with an A you can stick on over the B? Maybe I am not fully understanding your design concept here.

Get magnetic numbers and letters made. Reusable, and you can take them on and off easy.
