I just weighed and the cross weights are UGLY
728 | 588
534 | 578
2425 w/driver. I guess that's not bad considering 80lb of turbo, 188lb driver, and even a radio and speakers.
I'll balance it next month. Oh, and it looks like I weigh 190lb, not 182. I'm going to suggest that TXMC bar any sub 170lb pygmies.

I have a whole unused packet if you want it. Just PM me your address if you want.
Although it might just be easier to buy them.

I just use magnetic vent covers from Lowes. then I Trace SCCA letter and numbers that I need from SCCA size templete and cut them out with an exacto knife. I know its for autoX but some have said it has worked on a track. The expensive vinal ones from shops always fell off my car. These cheap F##$ers never fall off.

According to my quick calculations based on the points you listed on the nasaforums you should be right at 24 points (and still in TTA) if you run 225 NT-01s and you have to take points for the roll bar (which I don't think you do). If you don't have to take points for the roll bar you should be in TTA w/ four points to spare...
+3 for gearbox, +3 for LSD, +3 for shocks, +2 for springs, +2 for sway bars (I don't think you have to take this seperately for both front and back), +2 for tie rods, +2 for brake calipers, +3 for bumper = 20 points
+4 for roll bar? = 24
If you don't have to take points for the roll bar that leaves room for running Hoosier R6s, which I think you would probably have to run to even have a chance to be competitive...

20 thru 39 points - Up ONE Class
40 thru 59 points - Up TWO Classes
60 thru 79 points - Up THREE Classes
80 thru 99 points - Up FOUR Classes
100 thru 119 points - Up FIVE Classes
120 thru 139 points - Up SIX Classes
140 thru 159 points - Up SEVEN Classes
160 thru 179 points - Up EIGHT Classes
TTB*=+7
TTB**=+14
20-points total puts me up one class
My numbers:
+7 - NT-01
+3 - upgraded number of forward gears
+3 - differential
+3 - modified shocks
+2 - coil springs
+2 - ball joints
+2 - calipers
+3 - front bumper aero
-19 - -70mm tire
+6 points assessed
Ok cool, TTA. Now he needs to decide if I get one asterisk or two and put it in writing. Looking like I'm competing in Spec C5 Z06; maybe those guys will be nice enough to thank me for their free tires when I "show up" for backmarking. lol It's still a little disheartening to consider that Sixace get's TTB with 220whp, Hoosiers, and a similar mod list. I guess I have room for a splitter, top fuel wing, and Hoosiers. Too bad my wallet is empty.
Maybe I'll have to turn the power up...nothing like 150mph in a car with no cage.
I know I'm being an emotional ****** about this, but it's a real pain in my *** that with 3-weeks lead time and draconian number rules, I'm getting my classification at 8pm 2-days before I travel for the event. If they would have done classing on a reasonable turn-around, I'd have Hoosiers and Savington's wing and could possibly be competitive. Instead I get ~30 hours to get numbers made and get my car ready. Rather than bitch about people signing up late (people who are going to line the NASATX coffers with $1000-2000 this year) they might want to consider their own schedule schedule and the inconveniences it places on their customers. When you're the only game in town, behaving like the local "no-choice" TV-cable provider is par for the course.

FWIW, per Greg's email, my class last year was TTC**, which was based on:
210hp
2455 comp weight
My new base tire was 255.
I was usually hitting the scales at around 2525, so I missed my base guess pretty far.
I still find it hard to believe you got TTA* as a base. Did his email include a new base tire? What was it?
Enjoy the conga line this weekend. Take some pics for us. I'll be running TTA at Cression so at least we can tag team the vettes.
Nice number font btw. Very 90's
EDIT: You are welcome to come and pull my trunk/wing for this weekend if you like..

Specifically the "usable torque." How does that compare to a 2800lb vette with 400lb/ft? Oh yeah, it doesn't. It's clear to me that they want TT to be a field of racecars that can go to the W2W classes when you consider the classing by arbitrary review, numbering requirements...specifically AI, 944 spec, and if you're running a non-sm Miata, they don't want you. It's also fun to consider that if I increase HP/TQ, they adjust my classing with +7 or +14 points to bump me up to TTS.
I don't understand how a 2440lb/233whp/225tire/no-aero/good suspension is similar in performance to a 2900lb/500whp/295tire/no-aero/good suspension car with mod points to spare. That does not compute.
Again, I'll have fun this weekend, I welcome a competing series with a real TT format and not .

1.) What Sav said.
2.) Point yourself up there with aero/tire/mods.
3.) Keep the car the same and jump into TTA.
Just have fun. One of my most fav times was literally running up the *** of a vette through the corners at tws, having them walk away on the straight, and being on their *** outbraking them into turn one. Repeat. Can't run that close in a DE.
Or, seeing them coming up behind on the straights, only to see them throw it away in the turn trying to carry my speed. Gotta get a rear camera for those precious moments.
Wish I could make it. Be safe. Midpack is ok for your first tt. Esp. in TTA! Some of those vette guys can drive. Keep an eye on Kong though..he scared the everlovin crap outta me in turn 1 at hallett (the ole "knee turned off the key excuse"? Seriously?
