Here's a picture of the way she sits as of today... Going to sort some things out.

That looks like a new six-puck sitting on the windshield

Oh yeah. Going to give that a try and see where it takes me. Lots of unknowns about the pressure plate I'm using from FM even though they have been very helpful with answering questions for me. Hopefully it will last for a little while.

Also using this as an opportunity to inspect everything. So far I have found that on the exhaust side the valve seals are leaking and I can't really tell about the intake side because the meth keeps everything clean. This should be able to be fixed without removing the head from the car. This last time on the dyno also revealed that the vvt officially isn't functioning either. It's been suspected since the head was installed, but full retarded, full advanced or even with the solenoid unplugged all gives me the same numbers on the dyno. Let's just say that this head has been a disaster, almost tempted to put the factory head from my stock engine on just so I am working with known good parts. What would you do?

So you went with the act 6 puck with the extreme pressure plate? Are you reusing your old act pressure plate? If so I assume you're getting it balanced?

ACT 6 puck with the FM Level 2 pressure plate and FM 13lb flywheel. Having the flywheel resurfaced and just throwing the pressure plate back in as is. Don't really want to throw any money at this pressure plate because I'm not even sure I will be using it more than a week or two.

Actually, they are rated in ft-lbs.

This is not the bash ripracer thread. If you want to bitch about him, I split the relevant posts off to a new thread in the BS section.

Got everything back in the car today and went for a drive. The sprung 6 puck feels great and I wish I would have done this sooner. It feels like it pulls so hard all the way to redline now and I'm not sure if it really is because the clutch isn't slipping or if it's because I haven't driven it lately. Going to the dyno on Saturday and then the track for the night drags so I should have some new numbers to post by the end of the weekend.

Ran tonight at Portland International Raceway and had a great time. That track is so much better than Pacific Raceways that we have up here in Washington. I also got a chance to meet Jeff Ciesielski and Cueball from the forum today as well. Anyways, here's the numbers, 11.5 @ 121 was the best pass tonight. Will post up a slip sometime tomorrow.

Wow!

You're just about dipping into sportbike territory.

How close is this to where you want to be?

Not really sure to be honest. I really thought I would be happy with 350, but then I decided that I needed more. Now I'm at 400 and at first it seemed like enough, but not so much anymore. The new intake manifold should be going on the car shortly and I'll see where that takes me. I really think 500 is a good number to shoot for.
