Evidently it only re-sized one of the pictures. Sorry about that.

Nice FD in the background.

Looks like some bearing wear. What kind of bearings were those and if you're replacing them what are you going with?

Yes, there was some wear on the bearings but they where not super bad. Honestly I don't even know what bearings they where--Clevite main and rod bearings are what I am going to be going with most likely.

Ordered my ECU today, should take anywhere from 2-3 weeks before I get it. Jason from proEFI has to make my harness from scratch. Found out these are OEM made ECU and is originally made for military vehicles take take a 20' drop onto concrete and be under 15' of water with no issues, since it is a OEM made ecu there is no internal data logging and it will all have to be done via laptop. 32x32 standard mapping but there is about 135 screens to tune; Larry said it will take him about 8 hours to build me a complete map.

ProEFI has the fastest aftermarket ECU available at 56mhz processing speed with a true 32bit processor.

The thread title o_o

That price on the proefi is not -that- bad. I thought it was much more. 8 hours is a lot of tuning. Hopefully it includes 600 hp

Nope, the ECU alone MSRP is $799.99 for what you get you cannot complain, the way it was explained to me AEM is 1990's technology and proEFI is 2008 technology. When I was at the shop he started a 1000 whp supra with 2100CC injectors on E85 started super fast, like better then my mom's Scion and idled at 900 rpm with 14.7 A/F my mind was blown. He also stated in 340 ECU's he's sold so far at his shop he has never had one fail, unlike AEMS. (And he is still a huge AEM tuner)

600 whp is just a number, I would be much happier with mid 500 whp with a super smooth powerband and flat torque curve.

ProEFI - my next step already in works! Can't beat the flex fuel sensor *incase* you find yourself w/out any E85 at track! Freakin sweet! And of course, here in Alabama, we have only 1 station selling E85 that I know of - you dam corn hoggers...

Awesome, do you know what box you're going to go with yet? 48 or 128?

Love the flex fuel feature, but don't go bashin' AEM. We are talking about fully programmable ecm's, this means you have to have the enrichment set right for cold start, this is the case for any ecm.

My answer for no e85 is easy, I pull the $200 acer computer the rides in the back seat pocket out and upload my gas map....have not had to do it yet, but can switch fuels if I need to. I like the sensor, but if it fails you are f**ked. I like the KISS principal. Kind of like the best safety on a gun, is a trigger finger indexed along its side.

Good luck with the build, I am interested in seeing how long a properly built and tuned 1.6 can live at high hp.
