The "just have fun build"
4 Attachment(s)
This is my first Miata and so far these little cars are really good at pissing me off, lol. Every time I go to fix something I find something else that needs attention :vash: .... So far all I'm doing is giving the car some TLC that it desperately needs after the last two owners neglected it. Simple things like fixing broken bolts, replacing torn cv boots and steering bellows and even sourcing missing components like the lower PPF spacer that was missing.
Here are a few pics to start off the build https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441852344 Looks ok from 50 yards, but don't get any closer.... Lol https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441852344 How it looked when I got it, it's a lot rougher in person with bare and twisted together wires all over the place. |

The engine is supposed to be built but until I get to look inside I won't know for sure.
99' BP4W swap Oem compression Wiseco pistons Eagle rods Supertech valves Supertech springs Supertech retainers Gasket matched head ARP studs Cometic head gasket Billet oil pump gears FM stage two clutch Bp5a intake cam Fidanza cam gears Head shaved .030" (was told that'll put the C/R to roughly 10.5:1) Here's a list of what I've added or plan to add to the build: VF40 turbo from a Legacy GT 2.5" down pipe Log manifold Fmic Blitz bov Rx8 injectors AEM FIC6 Aluminum radiator Coolant reroute Oil cooler ( down the road) Power steering cooler I plan to run 10psi on e85 if I don't run out of injector, I plan to up the base fuel pressure to get a little more flow out of them. In the end it should be a fun car to take to autocross, drift events and possibly some track day fun. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441854289 Where the car currently is https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441854289 Going to pull in cold air from under the head light. The car didn't come with motors and the previous owner had a bolt jammed in there to keep it up....fml. Just something else that needs attention https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441854289 Once again, I find it hard to believe that this was ok..... Who knows how long the car has been like this. Not to mention the two CV boots that were torn and filled with mud instead of grease : / https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441854289 Wrapped the crap out of my manifold once I had her all welded up. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1441854289 Just a pic of some of the bracing I put on the manifold. I don't get to weld often, but love when I get a chance to. Opinions, suggestion???? How am I doing so far? |

You'll want bigger injectors for E85, and you'll also REALLY want to ditch the piggyback in favor of an ecu that doesn't suck. :giggle:
Welds look good! Weld me some things! |

That's a Nissan, this is a Miata. :giggle:
I dunno what i need to be welded yet. Seam welding? |
That wrap on the manifold will most likely not last and will cause your car to burn to the ground.
Unless it's some fancy NASA sh*t that you stole from work on not just your ordinary run of the mill heat wrap... |
