Last night my friend Rick and I went out and tuned the car to 26.5psi and the car was fast as ****. Every run we did, we thought the engine was going to explode but it didnt. We shimmed the wastegate to get a base boost of 23psi and used a turbonetics evo spring in my MVS wastegate (it fits!)

As a precaution to stave off and potential detonation I dumped in 3 quarters of a gallon of all we had at the time

I screamed/laughed like a little girl in excitement when the motor didnt blow lol

Today I went to the dyno and the first and second run (second was me sitting on the trunk lid), the tires spun both times and as a result the car only put out 308 rwhp.

We did another run where I sat on the trunk and the result was the same.
Then the dyno wasnt reading the rpms. Then we realized my boost was falling off massively. Then the dyno got all screwed up and wasnt reading the runs at all after.

Upon looking at the videos of the runs, I wanted to find out why the boost was falling off so hard. I found out why:

I burned a stud off the turbo to mani flange and only one nut was holding it in place. Fail.

Also we noticed my throttle body hose was slipping and this was the result

All in all, after the drag races I had with Pusha and my friend Rick, the tuning sessions last night, the dyno runs and all of the fully documented abuse in videos and pics, my engine has proven itself time and again to be a legend in its own right. I dont care what my dyno numbers are. I dont care that i lost to the z06. What I care about is that I have pushed this engine to far beyond the known limits and for whatever reason, I have not blown it or screwed it up in the slightest bit. My tune that I did from scratch has proven perfect. My thoughts and actions on this car that everyone has called me crazy for doing has proven that with the right stock motor and right axillary mods and tuning, Mazda has created and amazing piece of engineering that for me rivals anything that any other car manufacture has put out. We estimated this motor to be putting out about 360rwhp but again, I dont give a ****. I love this car despite everything and I cannot wait come hell or high water to finish this car off properly and keep it forever.

Next weekend this engine is coming out, getting hot tanked and becoming a table in my living room where it will forever be appreciated by yours truly.

Here is the new heart

All thats been done to it is as follows:

King Bearings through out
Moly coated piston rings
My stock MSM pistons
Ebay C.A.T. rods
ARP hardware

I will be buying a new meth controller soon and then upping the boost to 30psi. I will also be revising the intake manifold by most likely buying a new one or having Rick fabricate me a new one from scratch.

Heres the two responsible for the engineering on everything but the bottom end of the motor

Myself and Rick

I can honestly say that without you faggetts on here, this build wouldnt be nearly as fun

tire spin sucks..... my fat lard *** sitting on the trunk lid would have solved your spin... and put fat *** dents in yer alum deck lid! Next time - so do you think you hit the 350 if it didn't spin?

I'm going to go with yes.

Either you have the shittiest tires ever or the dyno operator doesn't have a clue how to strap a car down. Which is it? I was hoping you'd be putting down record numbers for a stock block.

I was thinking the same thing, I've seen some 1000+ whp cars spin on the dyno. 300whp cars, not so much.

I MIGHT go to another dyno before this saturday when I pull the motor just to put a nail in the coffin as far as the official numbers go. The thing is, I cant be wasting more cash on dyno runs anymore as I need the money for the gasket set for the engine and crap like that.
