it was a huge relief when i get it set. i could do 70mph without the car shaking my teeth out.

That's always a plus haha, good idea with the washers though. I still need to fab my trans mount, need to buy some more metal first.

yea it's really chep way to do it. i spent a ton on replacing tires because i thought they all had flat spots. very annoying because the answer was spending $2.34 at ace. :/

Well yesterday was my last day at work. Found something really cool that's been hidden away for over 20+ years I would guess. So basically there's this shelf in our back room where we throw things like old floor mats, it's not really a shelf, more like the ceiling to our bathroom. It's about 10 feet up and there's no real way to get up there unless you getting a running jump and pull yourself up. All the rock climbing with my buddies this summer kinda payed off. Anyway a long time ago I had noticed this old subaru seat up there and since my buddy just got a g27 and we've been having weekly races I told him we could check it out and if he doesn't feel like using it we'll just toss it in the dumpster. There were what looked like some other seat pieces that were sitting next to it so I pushed them out of the way and they fell down this crevice in between the two walls. I pass the seat down to him and it's really really dusty so we clean it off. The recliner still works but the seat belt looks kinda old fashioned, it's a three point but the release mechanism looks kinda weird.

So I sat down in it and it feels/looks like real leather and is actually really comfy which is weird cause subaru usually uses pleather. We kinda started wondering what the seat was because it was becoming apparent it wasn't out of any subaru. So my buddy looks at this tag on the seat belt and it reads

So by this time we realize we found something cool so my buddy decides to go look and see if there's anything else cool up there even though I've been up there a few times over the years and never really found anything. But then again I missed the 911 seat the first time so why not. Yeah those things that I pushed to the side? Those had the same seat belts as the front one, more seats. So I did a little demo on the middle wall and retrieved the other pieces. Turns out they're the back seats of a 911, so we have the driver seat and the two back seats. We're almost positive they've been there since our dealership moved in 20+ years ago and that they were from a previous business. Which means they've been in a climate controlled environment for that long too, there's only one small imperfection in the driver seat.

So the question is, anyone know what these are worth? Or know someone who would?

we are active on http://rennlist.com/forums/

it's a bunch of Porsche racers and hobbyists. that seat might be worth a few hundo. all that authentic Porsche stuff is going for big bucks right now. i would post over there and ask if anyone know what it's worth. if it's rare you might have a pm and cash before COB.

Made a post over there, also shandelle said stuff should be shipping this week which is cool. Midterms are now in progress, hoping to get out in the garage sometime next week for the first time in over a month

A driveshaft randomly appeared in the mail yesterday. Didn't really expect it but it was a nice surprise, also got a shipping notification that my sway bar mounts are in the mail for next friday. Finished my taxes today too. Realized I have 5 midterms in the next two weeks so that's gonna be fun but maybe after that I'll be all caught up with schoolwork and I'll even be able to do some fun stuff. Oh and we finished our design for the suspension for the mars rover, I'll try to post a pic of it in solidworks or something.

I also ordered some solar flux to try out for tack welding the headers so I don't get any sugaring. I'll be purging them once I'm ready to actually weld everything but I'm gonna give the solar flux stuff a chance for tack welds.

So three things. One, I ordered a mini cooper radiator off ebay for the go kart. Solid chinese quality, I figure it it develops a pin hole I can just weld it shut. Should get me going on stuff to do other than the headers. Two, my axles come tomorrow I just found out, just got a shipping notification from ups. Three, I may be able to finish the miata by the end of summer, well not finish, but have it running.

I was looking over the cost of it and if I don't build the computer for solidworks, it'll put me damn near close to having enough. Since I was planning on working for the family business a little anyway I just might have enough to get it on the road this summer. By on the road I mean no rollcage, probably the kirkey that I have up in my room for my driving simulator as the seat, stock 3 points, no flares covering the tires, etc... It'll be a little rough but I should be able to take it to some autox like that. I'm still gonna finish the go kart first because I know I can get that done this year but I think the car may be possible.
I'll be sacrificing a bit of time by not building the computer because I won't be able to work from home on my class as much but I can use the computer labs at school. But if I could get it done that would be absolutely amazing, so we'll see, gonna give it a shot at least. Definitely gonna be a little rough around the edges though haha

Hey does anyone know the width of the trans crossmember metal? Like where the piece comes off the frame rail?looks to be somewhere in between .125" plate and .250". I was gonna buy some metal for making one but I don't feel like buying extra metal.

Axles are here despite ups' every attempt to not deliver them. That's another story though. Sold a set of wheels I had laying around for 650 last night, girlfriend gave me "car funds" for valentines day, between those I had enough to throw some money at a differential. A 3.42 getrag unit is currently in the mail and headed for my house. Then Emilio sent everyone messages, 15x10's are in the mail as well. Also ordered metal for my trans crossmember yesterday, gonna pick it up tomorrow. Oh and I'm doing some valve covers this weekend for $250. Almost positive I can pull this off and get the car on the road this summer.

******* picture won't flip, whatever, here are some axles
Edit:******* picture flipped. Whatever.

On a less serious note, my differential gets here tomorrow, so shoutout to gmpartsclub.com for both having good prices as well as super fast shipping. And my wheels get here saturday, so many packages!

Oh and I finished the design for one of the headers, everything in black tape is pie cuts. Probably gonna hate myself for that one but whatever. Gonna get lots of practice for the miata exhaust at least! And that's the one that really matters.

I do wish you lived closer, I just don't need any more headers right now haha, that rollbar for 100 though, that I wish I could have bought haha

Picked up my metal for my cross member and stuff for the go kart. Then I noticed a small package on the front porch. It was a wee little radiator for an original mini cooper! It's so tiny! Lots of stuff showing up these past few days.

Hand is for reference

Default Ls3 build. Aero and Weight loss and Power! Oh my!

Having really bad luck with shippers lately, fedex decided not to deliver my differential on friday so I told them to leave it at the fedex store up the street. Lady called me saying she was sorry for the inconvenience and that it'd be ready to pick up today at 11. The delivery guy "decided not to pick up the package this morning" is now what I'm told Apparently it'll be here monday.

Butttttt I have new wheels!
