Just get the EFR in there already...
BUT I've had a "project" Miata for almost two years and I've spent almost zero time actually driving and enjoying a car. So, I'm just going to drive this car for a little bit as is. When the weather cools down enough that it's not great for drop top action then I'll get started on the overhaul... |
2 years? Try 12+ years for a race project car....

I think I need to raise the front a little bit. Got rake?

Hey guys! I'm still alive. Haven't had much motivation to work on cars lately so not much has happened.
I did have a rubber clutch line on the NB fail. That made for an interesting drive home. Luckily I had already bought the braided line from 949 so after a few minutes of frustration the clutch hydraulics were fixed. Currently the NA is in the garage getting parts removed from it. FM frame rails, roll bar, DW fuel pump. Basically anything worth anything. Putting the car back to stock so I can sell it cheap. This should have taken just a few hours but it's dragged on for like two weeks because of the aforementioned lack of motivation, and I was in Seattle most of last week giving a technical presentation to a bunch of Boeing people. Someday I will have the motivation and will do something awesome. Still waiting ion my MS3 from Rev. I should probably PM him for an update. |
I completely understand the motivation part, especially when it comes to getting a car back together just to sell.
|
I would never finish my car if it was only to sell. Just making myself do work now is hard considering I'm still burned out from building it.

Bought another car...?

Red miata is sold. Was on Craigslist for all of 16 hours. Apparently I wasn't asking enough for it, but I sold it for $100 less than I bought it for a couple years ago. Also, I sold it for basically $250 less than I paid for the Prelude, and the 'lude is in about 100x better condition.
My MS3 should be arriving sooner than later. UPS (USPS?) has it... |

The Miata had to give up it's 6ULs to the race car...threw some other random wheels I had on it.
Attachment 238410 Attachment 238411 Oh noes! 15x7s with 195/50 tires. OMG!1! #firstworldproblems #because8lbs PS... I really don't like white wheels. We'll see if they grow on me. PPS... I changed the oil in the car, first time since I've bought it (I think). That's kind of embarrassing. I've just been putting gas in it and driving it. It feels pretty slow... |

So this happened earlier this week...

Car is super clean (minus the whole front right thing) with fairly low miles. Plan is to fix the body damage and go from there... (k-swap? built 1.8 swap? finally use this EFR? MKturbo track tester?) As for the '00, I've just been driving it. I've done a bit of maintenance work on it and installed a mishimoto radiator. It'll be going up for sale soon. |
Dunno man. That '92 looks like a parter, not a fixer.
|
You are positive the frame didn't get bent?
Edit: they bend easily. Personally I would part the already damaged car, and build the nice NB, because NB. |

Frames can be straightened
|
Ha. Yes, frames can be straightened, but these cars don't really have frames.
The MSM that Josh parted last year had what appeared to be a smaller hit than that. Seemed like a relatively easy fix, but they decided to part it anyway because profit off MSM. After removing the carpet they found crease lines all the way back at the transmission tunnel. |
to sell an NB and keep an NA is mind blowing to me.
Mind blowingly stupid, that is. |

Mind blowingly stupid, that is. I honestly prefer the NA to the NB. If I had to have 1 miata it would be a 93le with a 1.8. |
The NB and NA are unrelated. The decision to sell the NB had already been made.
So at this point, the situation is (sort of) no miata or '92 Miata. But it's looking like it's not economically fixable so "No Miata" it is... |
