Megasquirt 1 v2.v2.2 mx5
So I recently wanted to start a turbo project and got hold of a mx5 1990.
I also obtained a megasquirt mk1 v2.2 with few mods on board. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f883f72a64.jpghttps://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e8906e24ae.jpg Back had to wipe sone gunk off. So it is clean now. Bit hard on angle but has idle mod on pin 30(db37) and launch on pin 31 (db37) which i assume is the extra proto area. After reading for hours and hours I attempted to wire harness into car. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...72762a077e.jpg My cables have been pre-named db37 as follows: 0-19 unused and grounds 20 air temperature 21 coolant temp 22 tps 23 o2 sensor 24 crank 25 cam 26 5v 27 igniter a 28 12v 29 igniter b 30 idle - mod do I need to add diode to this? Heard I may??? 31 launch/flat shift 32 injector a 33 injector a 34 injector b 35 injector b 36 fans - as my 4 iac wires (x11, x12, x13, x14) are being used for igniters, launch and cam sensor I wired a cable from d18 negative ( warmup led) and ran underside to pin 36. On the db37 plug in on ms board. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e40f1b74ea.jpgGlue skills need drastic work lol does this look right to go into a mx5? Do I need to remove st stop fuse if I do fuel jump in old afm box? steps I need to do? the harness has no other wires other than the fan wire I made on pin 36 so I am limited but everything seems to match. what about all the left over stock ecu wires? Cheers any help welcome. |
Grounding a ms mx5 na
Also I only have one ground wire. It is connected to 5 pins on top row of db37 and I am getting stuck on how to do the sensor grounds. (2c, 2d Factory harness). Should I make two separate wires from let's say db37 pin 1 and 2 and then wire them like so.
2c - pin 1 2d - pin 2 and ground 2a,2b - pin19 ( bused 5 ground points on db37) will this work ? |
Removed blue wire. Going to run fans off launch as I will not be using launch.
is this doable with the current mod? getting the components for the EBC (electronic boost controller) and hook that up as heard manual controllers are cruddy but can work okay. this this right? EBC - perfect -more tuning ugh MBC -can leak -no tuning -easy https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...5072cd31be.png for the tps can i just unplug and leave as is. Or is it essential to upgrade to a vtps for a EBC or the build in general? I have a generic IAT think it's from a Toyota Levin air box will this work for my MAF removal? I have easytherm but is that needed? Wouldn't all cars have very similar curves as they all read same air? can get a gm iat online for 20 bucks so can easily get one but if I have this will it make do? |
