Nice DIY fab work!

Thanks.
Turbo lasted two days on 12psi. comp wheel dug into housing. Little to much play lol. So next week I'll be getting a hx35 from a buddy and changing the kit up till that fits |

i will be getting my hx35 next week but in the mean time i went ahead and installed an ebay turbo i keep in my garage for mock up when building stuff. its a ching chong gt3582r
since the inlet on the 35r and the hx35 are both 4" im going to go ahead and install my z06 intake that i had for the future v8 swap and connect that to the turbo. havent seen it done so it should be fun https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404788722 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404788722 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404788722 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404788722 |
I have thought about this intake for quite a while and wondered why nobody has tried this.
I will be watching this very closely - though those intakes are not easily available here in Germany... |

here are a couple extra pics of the intercooler mounting i took today while the bumper was off
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404871776 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404871776 and this is the progress on the ls7 intake install https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404871776 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404871776 and these are my turbo cats being very concerned about whats going on in the garage... https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1404871776 Tim |
Thanks for the update - interested to see how you manage to connect the intake to the turbo.
BTW - do you happen to have a part.nr. for that intake? |

Tim |
are you going to have to remove the bumper to clean/ change the air filter?
|
mmm maybe but i dont think so. but its not my DD so im not to worried about that

In Germany the only way to obtain one may be to visit a certain area in Hamburg and steal it from one of the pimps' cars.... |
Really nice looking fab work on the hotparts.
Please do share your boost RPM when you get it, it's comical with the turbo that size lol! |
Thanks!
I may not end up running it with the gt35 since the intake is hitting the hood and I'm getting the hx35 next week any way and I'm out of time to work on it this week. I will share the hx's boost time for sure though. My friend said he had 13psi by about 4k with his low comp 1.6 mr2. I figure 12 should be 3700 or 3500 on the bp |

Nice work, don't like the Harlekin colours though...!
|

Volkswagen used to do a special edition model of the Polo in the 80s called Polo Harlekin
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1407864825 And this is a Harlekin - kind of a Venezian clown. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1407864825 |
Well that was certainly not the point
|
lol, just noticed the colors...damn....
