It's been a few months since I updated this, so I suppose it is time to give a few updates:
First up, new steering wheel. This is a 15-20 year old Momo wheel released to commemorate Benetton's F1 championship. Nowadays, it also commemorates worldwide gayness. As soon as I saw one of these I knew I had to have it - fits perfectly with the paint:
^ I've also cleaned up the interior a bit - moved my AFR gauge from the A pillar to one of the vents (tended to block visibility during autocross), made a new gauge panel for the center console with oil temp, oil pressure, and coolant temp gauges, painted the white trim around the passenger airbag, etc. Hard to tell from the pic, but I also got a new accelerator pedal from RennenMetal that helps a ton with heel/toeing.
Cleaned up the engine bay too - repainted the valve cover with Krylon wrinkle black, got a Mazdaspeed oil cap, painted the firewall (it used to be red), and did a coolant reroute.
Anybody with the FM silicone pipes and a thick radiator may be interested in this for their coolant reroute. The hoses that came with the BEGi kit wouldn't fit with the thick FM intake hose. I routed straight down (ditched the radiator fan on the passenger side since it only comes on with AC and I don't have AC on my car and never wired them in parallel), then next to the alternator and under the intake manifold. It rests against the alternator a bit, but so far that hasn't caused any problems. Pics below:

GRM ride of the day! Sweet! So did they tell you or did you just happen to catch it? Yeah, poor HT - it could have been MUCH worse, count yourself lucky! - Oh yeah, with that wheel and mint paint, you're definetly gay...

Thanks guys! I was pretty excited to see that. The guys from GRM contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if they could use my car as the Internet Hot Rod of the Month. After all of the long hours I've put in the car, it's pretty cool to see it in the pages of my favorite magazine.

Now I won't forget where all my money is going. I shopped around for a bit and this Capital One card seems to have the best offer: 2% cash back year round on groceries and gas. If they would add car parts and bar tabs I'd pretty much be fully covered.

Unfortunately not man - I've got another track weekend to attend at Nashville Super Speedway that conflicts with the CMP event. I'll definitely be back in February though. Have fun out there and be safe!

I was having an issue with my wastegate binding up, so I'm in the process of replacing the turbine housing.
I'd like to do some cleanup under the hood while I'm there. What's the easiest way to eliminate the pipe that comes off of the mixing manifold and goes to the heater core (outlined in red below)? My car doesn't have heat, so it's unnecessary.
