Yeah, it wasn't something I was expecting. I showed Gesso and he immediately 'd as well. It contacts the nut on the center shaft rather than the blades, but yeah, still no esta buen.

you want the iacv range settings?
as measured on G's car they are 25min 50max
Ari's appear to be 19min 44 max

You'd have to measure yours with the idle test tho, we're just comparing notes on what we measured.
don't think either set of numbers is useful to just plug in

I just noticed that we have the same range, but mine is shifted six steps lower.

As has been mentioned in this thread previously, I'm seriously curious as to what TSE has cooked up to keep these things in check.

Also, this will be relevant to our interests:

With port A blocked it should work just like a 3 port MAC.
Any idea if it uses the same settings as the MAC valve DIYautotune uses?
Like voltagers and hz and all that mumbo jumbo?

also do you want me to just plug this into the EFR plug temporarily or hack that off and wire it in properly? I can kinda sorta solder, lulz

yes, same frequencies. Remember though that the frequency for a boost noid isnt a set number. You gain faster boost control response (ie the actual control loop works faster, not spool) with higher frequencies but it makes the effective range of duty cycles smaller (like you need higher dc to have it be noticeably on and its effectively saturated at lower duty cycles). And the opposite of all that.

Alright, so I test the MAC valve today, it works.
I hook it up, and the "fun" begins. By fun I mean, this stupid MS is doing something weird and I don't understand what.

As long as the valve has power to it, the car makes 16-18psi and hauls the mail.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO in Tunerstudio, it completely ignores everything and runs the above boost. I have tried 19.5hz, I have tried 26hz, I have tried "normal" settings, I have tried "inverted", I have tried open loop and I have tried closed loop. The car either makes "ALLTHEBOOST" (well, at least much of it), or NONETHEBOOST.

What do?

Here's the boost control settings:

Sending Rev a PM, but speak up if you know what's wrong?

Per Reverant's instructions, Boost is wired to Pin: 20. I have double checked this on the DB37 and it is indeed so.

Boost duty in TS does exactly what it's told. In open loop I 100 out the table it reads 100, if 50 reads 50, if zero reads zero. In closed loop it jumps around "attempting" to hit the target.

But it's almost like something inside the MS is grounding the stupid circuit permanently so that it runs ALLOFIT?

Sounds like the solenoid is plumbed incorrectly.
<br />Does it click if set to 50%

Maybe, but here's the issue:
When I turn on the ignition (car not on) the solenoid clicks.
I touch ground to car and it clicks, and I touch ground to wire going to MS and it clicks.
Meaning as soon as car has power, it complete's the circuit. Shouldn't it only "close" the circuit when it's actually attempting to operate the EBC?

you know that the noid is supposed to be powered all the time and the ms grounds it to turn it on. so what you described as doing means nothing beyond the fact that the noid is powered and working.

No, what I'm saying is that it is grounded 100% of the time right now. It's not supposed to be. It's only supposed to be grounded when the MS grounds it.

Why do you have polarity set to inverted?

I have the same valve with a Rev box, it works great. Here are my settings:

I tried both, and neither worked. Thanks for that screenshot.

Do you have 12v going TO the valve from a power source, and Ground wire FROM valve going to pin/wire on MS (for EBC, or switched ground)?

I just want to make 100% G has it wired correctly before I keep testing different things.

Switched +12V from engine bay and ground to/from Megasquirt pin.

Yes, I have switched 12v from a hot-in-run location going to the solenoid, with the other solenoid wire going into pin 20 on the MSLabs MS3 db37.

thanks guys. yep, that's how his is set up. I'll keep messing with it.

in the mean time though:

MEDIUM wastegate actuator, seems to be MUCH BETTER

this is back to wastegate only, on the medium actuator

so at least we'll have a more or less steady 12psi if the EBC can't be figured out.

Alright, so this appears to be 100% an issue with the megasquirt.

I have confirmed that:
1) EBC/valve works 100%. The ports on the EBC being used are 100% correct as well, and 100% correctly connected to the turbo.
2) there is switched 12v power going to the EBC
3) the EBC is grounded to pin 20 on the DB37
4) per Rev's instructions, pin 20 is EBC, and in Tunerstudio is labeled as "Boost"
5) the boost control settings are correct, and set to work off "Boost"
6) I've tested pin 20, EBC input pin, and it's PERMANENTLY GROUNDED. This is incorrect.

Sent Rev a PM, I really hope to finish tuning this car, it's done aside from the EBC fiasco.
