Default So I'm a Mazda Owner Again.

But it isn't a Miata...yet.

Happened a bit over a month ago, but I haven't posted here.

So I've been looking at potentially getting a newer car to handle my 98mile a day commute better, as well as get more than 23mpg on the hwy like my Civic. Well plans sped up today my Civic started rod knocking pretty bad. It was time to be a grownup. Got my first auto loan.

After lots of searching for the right car, I saw a 3 that I really wanted instantly. So I bought it.

2013 Mazda 3 i Touring SkyActiv with a 6spd manual. 26k miles, black on black.

Only thing I've done is an intake and some LEDs inside.

Only did the intake to open it up for a few more MPGs, and I get ~41 highway if I drive "responsibly".

I'm still working on doing another Miata, so I didn't want to go wild.

Why does your civic only get 23mpg?

It was a D16 non V-Tec mated to a Si trans, so it had short gears and no power, so at highway speeds it was screaming. I got 30 city without AC, 25 with. And AC and highway it was getting 20 or so. This 3 is definitely a great improvement over the 98 Civic.

He's referring to the civic's engine. As in its not too healthy because of the rod knock haha.

Oh, don't mind me, I had just woke up. Thought he was talking about the 3 for some reason.
