Project Budget Time Attack.
Wanted to thank everyone for your help with my several questions i had and I'm sure will continue to have with my build. The overall goal of my project is to be at the top of the horsepower/weight ratio for my time attack group which should be around ~150whp.
The following is what i currently have on the my list. Please point out anything I'm missing. Thanks again. Turbo Garrett TB2522 BEGI cast baffled manifold BEGI stainless separated gas downpipe with extra o2 bung BEGI Intercooler, piping, & bov Turbo oil supply fitting Turbo oil supply line, stainless Turbo oil drain line, stainless Engine oil supply fitting Engine oil drain fitting Turbo water supply fitting Turbo water supply line Turbo water drain fitting Turbo water drain line Manual boost controller (recommendations?) 1.8L Injectors or bigger ECU Innovate wideband and gauge Mega squirt PNP (Brain built) Coolant reroute BEGI Spacer BEGI Block off plate Kia waterneck GM Hose Oil cooler Flyin Miata thermostat kit Cooler Lines Ill take any recommendations you guys send my way, thanks all. |
In before someone else points it out - why did your MSPNP need to be assembled, and who is Brian? :D

MSPNP comes fully assembled, hence the name. ;) It's the MS for we unwashed, solder-averse types. Did you mean DIYPNP?

sorry i guess i did realize there were two different version of PNP. Can i ask the retarded ass question as to what is the difference? They both seem to be the same price?
getting it built by Scott or buying pre-assembled |
well the budget part went to ---- but here is some more info (also for some reason i cant edit my first post). I didnt do the coolant reroute or the oil cooler. Installed a water temp gauge coming right off the back of the head (temps dont exceed 215). I deleted the heater core and plumb right back into the mixing manifold. Oil temps are fine, reading off the drain plug.
So here are a few of the dyno graphs. Dotted line is after e85 solid line is before e85, 40 HP difference and a crap load more boost. We could have gone further but the actuator was too weak. We actually exceeded the limitations of the turbo and the injectors were at only 80% utilization. Boost went from ~10 PSI to ~17 PSI. In order to keep in my Time Attack group (TA-B which is a 10/1 power to weight ratio) we had to reduce the horse power to 224.9. http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...iata/AFPSI.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/k...iata/PwrTq.jpg |
I was going to mention budget and time attack don't really go hand in hand. But I guess you found that out already ;)
Nice power numbers! Should be fun! |
