that kit actually looks pretty decent... cast manifold should last alright, chinachargers are coming into their own, their I/Cs and tubing setups have always been fine... What are you running for engine management?

anyway... good job sir. Amazed nothing has blown up. Amazed at how some 1.6 cars seem to be made of glass (rods, rear end, etc) but some, like yours and viperormiata's, seem to just keep taking more and more without complaint.
Its an MS2 PNP. Brain-built. I got it 2nd hand from Bond. I chucked their FMU and FPR.

Mines is also a short snout crank, so it really has the odds stacked against it.

Mine is, as well. 100k+ boosted miles and daily'd for years in Florida heat on a stock rad. Overheated easily a dozen times and auto crossed for 3 seasons. Been hurricaned on 4 times and had water flush out of my spark plugs holes. All my car "learning" was on this motor, all my supercharging was on this motor and all my turbo and MS "learning" was on this motor.

Point: Mazda made some seriously bad ***, stout motors in the B6/BP's.

OP, I'm glad to see someone run that new ebay setup. I noticed just last year that they were selling an external wastegate downpipe setup for the legendary ILOVETACOTACO manifolds.

I am really happy with the setup the turbo definitely takes a while to spool. But the components aren't that bad. Really everything fit like a glove no serious modification needed on anything.

The AN lines sucked just poor quality all around and I needed to get some adapters for the oil feed, but other than that not much.

For a very budget turbo its a great place to start.

EDIT: Also I quickly looked through your build thread on my phone but never saw a dyno or timeslip? Did yours just take a ridiculousness amount of miles boosted or did it do that at some ludicrous power level as well? I did see the holset and that put a smile on my face lol.

That's awesome that the manifold/downpipe combo works well. What I like is that you can bolt-on a small Borg Warner or Precision turbo since the downpipe is a common 5-bolt flange.

Lol, I live on an island. Nearest anything is more than a 4 hour drive. Holset will be my 3rd(kinda 4th) turbo on this car. I'm at 100k-ish boosted miles on this motor. No ridiculous levels of power or anything, so far. I'm already planning for a new short block, as I know the new setup will be the final nail in the coffin.

I had briefly considered building this engine or another 1.6. But I couldn't justify it when you can find a junk 1.6 for almost nothing. My plan is to just keep dropping junkyard engines as they pop.

Currently the limiting factor for my car is fuel and the impending surge line of the 57 trim T3/T04e.

So until I upgrade my fuel system (which i'm too cheap to do) or replace my turbo (also cheap for that) I'll just push the limits on what the great Mazda gods have given me.

Some more pictures of various exhausts. Exhaust pranks are common place among my circle of friends.

The last picture wasn't my exhaust but it was welded back together after a massive backfire literally split the muffler in half.

Yeah, I've picked up a few odds and ends from him as I've broken things.

Naturally it made it to someone elses vehicle who was not present at the time. I considered it a lovely, and early birthday present.

Im sure we still have that very one lying around somewhere if you really want it. It does have a rather large gash in it though...

My muffler got "tagged" when I went inside during welding:

Im not the one who needs talking into here... Im just broke

You sir on the other hand, disappeared off the face of the earth for about 8 months there.

Funny story, the miata actually got louder with that exhaust sitting over the old exhaust.

I've been pushing off a track day for a long time, mostly for roll cage and reliability reasons. Also the fact that my car handles like **** due to the sock suspension, with blown shocks worn out everything and all seasons.

Rally cross is more up its alley.

Well it looks like another chapter in this book. The FM clutch didn't like the boost as much as I did and finally gave up at ~17psi.

Even with it failing, as nicely as that clutch drove I still can't say enough good things about it.
